Does everyone think like me and the world has gone crazy? I went to a dealer today and look at what they’re asking for a couple of their trucks. First is a limited edition 1794 and I know they are a limited number but 93k? You can add the cowboy leather and whatever else you need and still not be near 93k. Also a Xp with a 15k lift kit? What lift kit cost that much? Am I just out of touch?

The GM needs something to upsell the lay down with.

That is definitely crazy/sick. $93k would be about $127k Canadian......

I would never do business there, they should collect dust on the lot for sure or they are waiting on that idiot to come in who knows nothing about pricing.

I agree, we bought our Tundra at another dealership but the wife’s 4Runner was bought there when it was another owner. Now we keep going back for the lifetime warranty we bought but a new 4Runner is on the horizon.

There is a reason why so many dealerships have dozens of trucks just sitting there again. Fix the reliability issues before you try adding crazy markups. Even the few engines failures, fuel issues, other issues, are enough to justify the trucks sitting on the lots with the huge mark ups.

This is the sick part, they will sucker someone into a 10yr, 10% loan and they will drive away smiling thinking they got a great deal

I live in central NC and there is numerous Toyota dealers within an hour drive that compete for business. The nearest one by me I never buy from because they are stupid on pricing and I drive a half hour in either direction and save up to 10 grand.

All those dumb dealer add ons like “smart car technology” for $1000, probably something stupid like LoJack.

I hate dealers like that, they’ll drop the price on the add ons during negotiations and tell you that you are getting an awesome deal at closer to MSRP.

The best dealerships to buy from are those that don’t add any of those profit driven add ons to the vehicle. A vehicle that is delivered from the port with port add ons is the only dealership I will buy from. As far as a 10k add on for the special edition is crazy. Someone on Facebook purchased a special edition 1794 undere MSRP. Anyone that pays over MSRP, currently, in this inventory environment, needs to have their head examined!

I'm too broke after buying this rig to afford mods.
Am I right in seeing that entry for "Cabin Sanitation" ? WTF does that mean?? They will clean up the bull shit they are spewing as they are trying to convince you to sign for a 15 year loan at $1000/month?

    GTFO with those markups.

EDIT: Just realized that the MGM truck is a 2023! So yes, it's apparently glued to the lot waiting for a rube. :spending:

Nearest dealer to me has 4 Tundra hybrid sitting on lot. Priced about 10,000 higher than others. Told me they were not moving for some reason. I have a decent repoire with them. I told them they may be sitting a while. There was a Platinum I force max. We talked about it. Told them wasn't ready yet check back in few months. Said they were selling mainly gas mileage getters.

Rain repellent? You mean polish right? Plus they don't even do a 5 year warranty on the paint protection??? Cabin Sanitation??? I would run away from there and try another dealer, in Georgia maybe?

They are charging twice for “lifetime window tint” also. It was part of the package above it. What a bunch of crooks.

Yep I ended up leaving that dealership and going to another 30 minutes away and got 7k off msrp and 4k more on my trade in. Also how do you come up with a 15k lift kit? I’m confused on that..

Luckily my local dealer is one of those "never above MSRP" shops, and they rarely have fluff add-ons. I would never buy anything at a dealership like the one you mention, but I would 100% waste a little bit of time toying with them to see what BS they came up with for justification. I mean I toyed with another dealer just for a $10k market adjustment. There's a lot of curious crap there, but I agree that the $15k lift add-on is the most intriguing. Can't tell how much it's lifted and it doesn't say.

Complete insanity at that dealer, I got my 1794 LE for 5k off MSRP and a 1,500 rebate on top of that

The LE 1794 is super cool but in a few years just another used truck...and a great value then for those in the know. The TRD Pro will still be the value retention aka Toyota Tax king for resale...according to my crystal ball.

Folks are snaping up $100k+ Tesla Cyber trucks like heroine addicts getting a fix, some fool will buy that Tundra to impress the others in the gated community.

Heck folks used to get in line over night for the latest iphones. A fool and their money.....

Nearly every SEFL dealer has been adding "market adjustments" for a few years. Make the drive to the gulf coast, a lot less of that BS (but still some).

Market adjustment is the nice way of saying "pull your butt apart" If anyone pays over sticker - you're the problem.

Also, there are plenty of dealers offering discounts even on these limited edition trucks.

My local Miami Dealer has the best deal out there. I’m thinking about getting another Tundra since it’s such a good deal.

Last time I was at the dealer I saw the same thing and concluded my current tundra will be my last. Even the Tacomas are stupid prices. Even the used ones.

Those prices are insane. Guess some dealerships think everyone looking at a Tundra is a fanboy.

I would just show the dealership a 3/4 ton diesel with the highest trim package for a lot cheaper.

I get what your saying, but the dealer isn't going to give a shit about being shown a 3/4 ton diesel listing

best thing to do , is just buy elsewhere, and never go back.

my toyota dealer doesnt do anything like this, that dealer would never see a dime from me
