I would consider 2016 if it’s what I’m looking for. Treat it like buying a used car. Check/replace fluids, inspect the hoses, etc. If original tires, I’d replace them based off the age. Cali has every climate, so depending where it is and if it was kept inside or outside, also determines what I would inspect.

Unfortunately, I do not know of any shippers, never used one. Good luck!

I don't get to inspect it. It's too far away, so I'd have to arrange for a dealership to inspect it before the purchase.

    Anyone have a newer GSXS1000?

Hopefully the seller is sending pictures and sharing the records with you. About the only way to see if you want to spend the money at dealership. Where in Cali is it?

I haven't even reached out yet. I'm working night shifts, so it's hard to do stuff in human hours.

According to the seller it wasn't sold/assembled until 2019 when they bought it, and they didn't plan to sell but health issues are making them sell. Original owner and has kept it covered in a garage it's whole life outside the minimal mileage ridden.

Just saw this. Not sure if they will pick up in other parts of the state. They’re a used bike dealer in Sacramento.

That gives me an idea. Looks like it'd be slightly more expensive than if I were to road trip it with my trailer, but it would definitely be more convenient.

A fair bit over the course of last season. Trying to remember for sure, but I think it was 6 or 8,000 km worth. That’s around 3,700 -5000 miles, just so I don’t get any more blame. :D

I’m itching to get insurance on the bike and get out, but there’s still a ton of winter sand on our roads and the warm weather we had a few weeks ago has retreated a bit. Maybe by the end of the month.

Anyone have any thoughts on the crf300l?

My return to the sport requires a small dual sport with a low seat height and long service intervals.

Honda makes a good bike. A little while back I was seriously thinking about a CRF150R expert for off road fun. The expert is like a big wheel mini bike. This bike would be a lot of fun.

If I were to get a dual sport it'd be a CRF300L Rally. Watching Itchyboots take hers across a couple continents and seeing Dork in the Road (who is more my size) run his around definitely shows what it is capable of.

I just watched some itchy boots today, she is a rockstar!

The WR250r looked like a better bike to me but they don’t make it anymore and the used ones are going for nearly new crf300l money in my area. Maybe I’m just used to my sport bikes with aluminum frames, plus I like the adjustable suspension. That said I couldn’t bring myself to pay so dearly for a 15yr old bike with 10k on it.

Anyone have any thoughts on the ABS? When I stopped riding ABS didn’t exist. Looks like a neat feature but if it’s not entirely defeatable I think it would be a liability off-road.

She really is great for those epic shots that make you want to travel the world. Watching her season 3 helped me pull the trigger on a bike, and the CB500X specifically.

I am not sure what settings it has for ABS, as I'm mainly on road. I'll go back and rewatch some DitR videos to see if he comments on it.

It can be turned off in the rear. I don't ride enough dirt to know if that's enough for you, but it is switchable.

Rolled the dice on this Semi questionable car play screen for the bike. Garmins zumo/tread seem clunky af to use and we already have an Inreach for sat. Navigation/emergency.
Was $315 CAD plus $50 in ball mounts.

You should look for a CRF300LS, which is a lowered version of the CRF300L

Others have mentioned the DR650. Those come with an alternate shock mount and a way to mechanically lower the forks standard. When I had one, I did the shock mount and raised the fork tubes up in the triples.
