I'm doing much better, thanks. Sneezing still sucks, but nowhere near as painful.

You should create a 'build' thread for your rig; it would give a lot of folks a quick reference to part #s you used in one place... Plus, anytime anyone asks you about the entire build or a specific piece you can just link them to your build....

Thanks for the tip! I think I’ll create a build thread once I finish upgrading the interior.

Does that matter? The guy is supplying the rear springs but I would just use the shocks (obviously)....

EDIT- Long ago I had a 01' Lexus GS300 and put 96 Supra TT calipers and rotors on as Toyota uses so many similar parts across all its cars. Hell looking at the calipers on the 21 Tundra they look just like calipers off an old LS400 for instance

Soooooo clean! I do love the "Stormtrooper" look. It'll never go out of style. Had it on my 3rd Gen and always loved the look. Pic of my "old" truck below for those who never ventured over to the 3rd Gen side of the forum.

The truck I currently have, I'm going to slowly go Cav Blue & Black. Pic of the truck before I started to de-chrome it is below. Since the pic was taken, I've done the outside emblems with the OE overlays and most of the interior (thanks to AJT's various kits). I'll be slowly converting the chrome over to Cav Blue using, most likely, the BumperShellz overlays. Then I'll start the hunt for some of the OE All-Black TRD wheels. Basically, the TRD Sport look in a TRD OR body. haha.

Man, those are two great trucks. Have you come to a conclusion on a preference between the two?

Do you have any pictures of the interior with the AJT kits installed? I’m looking to black out the interior and I am curious how good it looks/easy it is to convert. On a related note, just a heads up about the BumperShellz that isn’t mentioned in their install instructions is that you’ll want to prep (clean) both driver and passenger sides at the same time. They provide a single 3M liquid adhesive vial that dries out pretty quickly after breaking the seal. Also, you’ll probably want to have a heat gun handy. I found that lightly heating the surface and pressing against the adhesive-lined surfaces resulted in a better adhesion between the shell and bumper.

It's really hard to say or pick, TBH. Both trucks have their strengths and weaknesses.

I've come to appreciate the simplicity of the 21. For me, the decision to trade back to an older gen came down to my specific situation. I had a 22, which of course, is having the majority of the issues since it's the first production year. My wife and I are looking at buying some property in Western NC, near the national park. Which mean the nearest Toyota dealership is about 70 miles to the east in Asheville. I wanted a truck that I...or worst-case scenario, a local shop...could reliably work on, should I run into an issue. The 3rd Gen isn't there yet, but I'm sure it will get there with another couple years under its belt.

How is their quality? Does it look/feel OEM or are they inconsistent/cheap aftermarket?

Great looking rig - I'm partial to Super White :)

Question for you: did the wheels come with the TRD center caps or did you buy them separately? Black wheels are one of the items I want to grab for my truck as well.

Came with. I bought them from this eBay seller. To complete the black out look, I also bought this TPMS set from this eBay seller.

I put pics below. None of it is hard to install, as long as you're comfortable with a panel tool. Everything is pretty straightforward. As mentioned below, AJT's site is great with the videos. You can also check out NitroZ18 Fishing's YouTube Channel. He has since purchased a 22 TRD Pro, but still has all of his 2.5 Gen Tundra content up. He has an entire video dedicated to removing interior trim pieces in his Tundra that is a great reference, if you've never done it before.

I should also say that while I'm not affiliated with AJT or sponsored in any way, shape, or form...I've been doing business with him since 2018. I've bought tons of fob cases for 4Runners, Tacos, and Tundras. I'm afraid to think about how much money he's gotten from me over the years. haha. I've given his fob cases as gifts to several carnut buddies. His stuff has been top notch since day one.

Indeed. AJT's site content was super helpful. Great stuff.

Here are the pics. Ignore all the dust & fingerprints. The fit & finish is great.

    I've done the following:
    • Steering wheel trim (the steering wheel Toyo badge overlay is from ebay)
    • Shifter trim (swapped the stock shifter to an all-black TRD pro shifter)
    • Cup holder trim
    • AC control knobs & trim
    • Start button trim
    • 4WD knob
    • Door handles
    • AC vent rings

Forgot to mention....AJT no longer has the steering wheel Toyota emblem. There are plenty on Amazon that fit.

I did it for looks too, besides the easier access to the filter. Just like anyone would spend coin for aftermarket wheels and tires. Plus, at $250 versus 500-600 new from the dealer, it was a good deal. BTW, someone in Murrieta just listed another one for sale yesterday on offer up for $300 if anyone else is looking for one local to SoCal.
