Compass/Navigation Screen in DIC

    I noticed recently that the compass screen in the DIC doesn't work or it is completely blank. The two pictures below reflect what I see MOST of the time when I switch to this mode on the left side of the DIC. Anyone else have this issue?

    The first picture shows the truck heading but it NEVER changes, even if I drive in a circle. I was actually driving due NORTH when this picture was taken.

    The second picture shows a completely BLANK screen, which happens about 50% of the time. I don't know if I have ever seen it actually work (change directions while driving).

    My compass freezes - and sometimes goes blank - whenever I’m using Waze via CarPlay, and have a set direction/place (e.g., “home”). Works fine using Google Maps and Apple Maps.

    Reported problem to Waze weeks ago, and no response. Guess what nav system I stopped using?

    Interesting...I use Waze and was also using Google Maps for navigation. I thought it happened when using both. I will try it again and see what happens. Thanks for the tip!

    Just to be clear . . . Using Waze with no set direction/place, Compass works fine.

    Only freezes in Waze when you have a set destination.

    My in dash compass is right only when I drive the direction it is stuck on. I don't look at it often, but every time I do, it is stuck or wrong. I use Google Maps in Carplay 95% of the time. I have used Waze.

    OK, just tested on a drive tonight. STUCK or BLANK with Waze, Apple Maps, Google Maps. It simply does NOT work.

    Well, I was incorrect. I did my testing before updating to 2050. And tonight, the compass did not work for either Waze or Google maps - with destination selected. Can’t explain why it changed!

    Screen went completely blank today for first time…was using Maps. Never had it happen before

    I'm guessing this is a result of the latest software upgrade (or downgrade), as I don't ever remember this happening prior to applying the new software. You would think Toyota would do real world testing before just pushing out software.......

    Used google maps twice today and both times my direction display was stuck. Remained stuck even after turning off Google maps navigation on my phone and HU.

    Once home I restarted the truck and it was pointing the right direction, but I didn’t drive anywhere to see if it was actually working or just frozen in a new spot.

    @ryanwgregg has yours done this before or have you heard it being an issue much? My truck is a 11/23 build and I am pretty sure has the latest HU updates.

    edit: may start a new thread in 3rd gen section to get more eyes on this.

    Got it, thanks. Hopefully we will get another update this year that fixes these bugs.
