Anyone on here experince brake squeaking right when the truck is started for first time backing out and shortly after---It goes away after that but if truck sits overnight it will squeak in morning or evening shortly after startup. 5k miles

Mine does the same thing (2018) and always has. Moisture and prolonged sitting make it worse.

Almost every time I pull out of my driveway, I hear the brakes squeak. Nothing after that though.

Mine used to do that, and I took it in. They replaced my rotors and pads, and opened a ticket up with Toyota. All good now

Oh man, I am so glad you started this thread. I thought I was going to go nuts with the reverse squeal. But you're right, it goes away and doesn't come back until I park overnight and have to reverse out the next morning

What did you tell the dealer?
I called and they told me this was "normal" but I believe it is not and just a bad batch of maybe rotors or pads

    Suggestons?

I didn't call, I just went in, and told them that a brand new truck should not be doing that. They replicated the issue, and then said "we have to open a ticket with Toyota" and called me the next day and replaced rotors and pads.

So I haven't had any squeaking yet. But I will say that I have slight rumble when breaking right before I come to a stop. Almost like warped rotors. I just got the truck on Thursday, and only have ~100 miles on it. So I thought I would give it a little time to see if it goes away... Anyone else experiencing this though? And to be clear, it's not through the entire breaking speeds. If I am over like 15 mph, there is no rumble. Only <15 mph and usually right before I come to a stop

Quick update--Brought it in and of course checked out with no issues...I was told that my salesman has same issue with his and that an enginner would be down later this mont to look at something else soon and would mention it to possibly address with the factory---Now i have put in req wit Toyota themselves for a resolution

The brakes on my 2012 4Runner squeaked from the moment I picked it up at the dealership. I mentioned it at every service appointment for the first year. Honestly, it got to the point where I spent the $$ within the first year and paid to have aftermarket ceramic pads put on. Had a similar issue with my old Tacoma, but I just dealt with the noise on that truck.

I've had service writers & techs say on multiple occasions that the factory Toyota pads are notorious for this. Especially on their heavier vehicles like SUVs & Trucks.

Thankfully, I haven't had that issue with my Tundra.

I get this brake noise during slow stops.
At first intermittent now it’s constant no matter the temp.

My truck sounds like a school bus. Every stop after driving around for a little while squeaks. I don’t hear it right away in the morning, only after things have warmed up. It started to occur around 10k miles, currently at 16k.

    Rci skid plate,
Mine squeaks after it’s hot in traffic then goes away. Not a big deal for me but has a large part that states are requiring brake pads be made without copper due to low fish numbers in some of the western states. Also pad life is down due to this issue also.

Took the truck in today to have dealer duplicate and document the brake noise. They stated it’s a known issue and no counter measured parts are available at this time. So no parts were replaced.

    Rci skid plate,
Sadly since the copper has been removed from brake pads in my state this the new normal. I just did a bunch of towing and my noise has gone away but when the light braking catches up I will expect my noise monster to return.

When I had my giant spoiler Civic the brake pad noise was normal until pads were warm.

Been to the dealer twice with no fix -- issue still remains. Couldn't "duplicate" the issue. HOWEVER -- talked with two service technicians I know that have their sierra together and that 'at the same time before I even finished describing the squeal said -- "regenerative braking issue". Common on hybrids. Brakes get dirty and more likely rust on them even parked overnight in the garage or out in the parking lot. Mine only does the squealing when I slowly back out of the garage with light pressure on the brakes. On occasion it will squeal in the shopping parking lot. Is there a fix? Toyota isn't jumping on it. Clean the discs? Turn the rotors? I even saw a recommendation that worked for me years ago - do some hard braking both going forward and in reverse to help clean off the discs. Frustrating have such an expensive vehicle squeal like this.

Found this link on YouTube -- good (you probably don't need to turn up the volume on this but it's a bizarre one): https://www.youtube.com/shorts/xphmL8WH3tE

This is exactly the sound (only mine is in reverse when I first back slowly out of the garage with light pressure on the brake pedal. After I take off and drive for awhle, can't get it to duplicate. Only after it sits for an extended period of time

Mine does the "first drive of the day, back it out of the shop" squeak almost since day 1. No braking issues I've noticed though and I tow a 6000 lbs toyhauler in the mountains which can definitely test a braking system
