Yup, I'm pretty sure it's under 5v hopefully @snivilous can verify.

~0.8V drop so she seems tits.

Next test will be how it stacks up in @Fastlane47 truck since he pegs 5V at 6000rpm yet WOT shift doesnt conclude until 6800rpm. Idk if your MAF will drop the voltage enough to keep it below 5V, but I think it will and worst case will be right on the edge instead of 1000rpm short of where we have redline.

Great!! Love the feedback, keep us in the loop!

Scaling was pretty straight forward with the voltage sheet included?

Yes, we did that on one of my customer’s trucks. He installed a 5.7 FFV engine into his solid axle swapped 4Runner and then converted to regular ECU. Needed to do a few extra bits and pieces, but pretty straightforward.

Do I need a specific ECU? Can you point me to the process please?

We did this 3-4 years ago, so I don't remember every detail.
The ECU I believe we just got from the same year non-FFV truck with the same options (4wd, tow/haul).
I don't think the ECU part number is critical.
We replaced the fuel rail FPR with a non-FFV one.
Lastly, the FFV ECU controls the C/OPN and Fuel pump relays to turn on the fuel pump, which is different than the non-FFV ECU, but that is the only difference (photo attached).
We just rewired to fuel pump to come on independent of the ECU.
You will also need to program the keys to your new ECU.
Also, you can get rid of the fuel pressure switching valve and hoses above the tank, but it is not mandatory.
I don't think there was anything else involved.
I am sure @snivilous can figure it our for you guys :)

Here is the truck we did it on:

Thanks, I already have all the mechanical FFV things deleted, I have direct power to the pump, the relay jumped per firemandan & an aftermarket fpr running over 50lbs

In that case, I believe all you need to do is get a non FFV ECU from a wrecked truck with the same year/options as yours, plug it in and tune away (will need new HPTuners credits because the ECU calibration will be different).

I sent HPT a message asking if I can send them the old ecu & not pay again. Not holding my breath.

My service manual says it auto-programs the key to the ecu when you try and start the truck. Not sure if yours is the same

Hitting 18.5psi. Nice! Are you at 6800 in 4th? Couldn't see if it was let off before 6800. If not will it hit 19psi at 6800?

    '14 LX570
Harrop SC Kit Icon Vector 5 17" wheels Kenda Klever 'Skinny' 35x10.5 tires IPT Performance valve body
Hello! I joined up to ask some basic 5.7 SC questions. I have a 14 LX570 with 120k on the odo. Excellent shape mechanically. I installed a Harrop Kit not long ago. I chose it for it's design and my goals which aren't hardcore. I don't plan to do headers or intake (the build is overland/towing focused) etc.

I know the kit is advertised by Harrop as not needing tuning. Coming from a background of modified cars and tuning, that was obviously something I was highly skeptical of. Reading about the kit, speaking to other owners and shops like Prospeed in Houston, I was less uneasy about it. Truth is that it seems to "just work". Again, stock engine. I've never heard audible pinging, never had power loss, no codes have ever been set. However, all that being said I would like to maybe get a more dialed in tune.

In speaking to Prospeed, they told me that I should leave it as is if I have no plans to mod any further. When asked about just refining the tune, they said that tweaking it in any way would require injectors because the factory ones, even with the upgraded harrop fuel pressure regulator valve and the upgraded Deatchwerks fuel pump, are completely maxed out as is. But then they also said that the fuel rails would need to be upgraded and that I shouldn't stick with the Deatchwerks pump and that I should upgrade to the walbro 400 they sell but that one isn't a drop in so the fuel pump unit would need to be modified and new AN lines and fittings added to run to the new rails.....and all of this extra stuff that I don't think is really necessary from what ive read in this thread...?

The point of all that background info is to ask: can I upgrade the injectors to the Deatchwerks drop in kit I've seen recommended in this thread several times, while keeping the otherwise factory fuel system, upgraded pump, in order to just get a decent 'fine tune' via HPT or VFTuner? Again, no crazy HP goal that stray too far away from what the kit is supposed to make. I just want a proper tune and maybe a small bump in power. From what I gather from all the reading I've done, the factory bottom end can handle 550 at the wheels safely but you shouldn't go above that if you want it to remain semi-reliable.

On the tuning side I've heard that HPT can flash a 570 but you have to trick it into thinking it's a tundra? Not sure how they do it, maybe using a tundra VIN? Is VFTuner a good option? Are there decent tuners that can remote tune via VF?

Just trying to get a real world answer on if I can just toss injectors in and get it tuned or if I really need the thousands in supporting upgrades prospeed told me I'd need. Thanks for your time and any replies!
