Meanwhile, back at the Tree, I have ethenol issues due to the flex deal so I'm trying a non flex ECU.

Cover me, I'm going in!



PN says 11-14 non flex 2/4wd tow package Tree! WOOT! 127 with a warranty so if I brick it or it doesn't work I can get the $ back lol

 

Logs show weird MAF fluctuation so I replaced the intake hoses with smoother/less twists.

 

Tree now has a non flex ECU, hopefully that resolves the ethenol issues.

 

So far so good, truck running better & 0 eth!

 

Just drove 40 minutes each way to drop the M vent panels at the body shop, he said he needs the car to paint them, I said I thought you could figure the color, that's why I came in the car. He looked me dead in the eye, said do you know what color this is? I said Atlanta Blau metallic #306? He said NO! It is NIGHTMARE BLUE. I need the car.

I left them so he can start the preparation & will drop it off in a week or 2 when it is absolutely too hot to drive.

 

Brakes were new when I bought the Tree, (unbeknownst to me) I bought new brakes before I got it. I have had worsening shudder on the freeway so figured the rotors were warped & just installed them.

New pad on the right, I put 25k miles on them, kinda shocking how much is left.

Finally got a new file from Active, car feels good, waiting to get a response on the log to be certain it is running happily.

The Innovate MAP sensor shit the bed, reads 43.8 pounds at all times.

Everything the PO touched was a mess at best, he replaced the fuel pump.

Got a DW 300 for the BMW.

 

Apparently, we banged the valve cover on the firewall, it is leaking.

So I got a new one with gaskets.

 

Those valve covers are notorious leakers! Idk about that engine, but on my S54, the crankshaft position sensor is all the way at the back left side of the engine, and a pia to replace!

FYI, the manual on replacing says to add gasket maker to certain spots, along with the valve cover gasket.

 

This one is my fault.

Yup it's back there on the S52 as well. That's why I replaced all of the sensors with new OEM.

 

Got the new MAP sensor in.

Previous owner 1/2 Ass shitty repairs rears its ugly head again.

The 3rd brake light lens was old so I got a new one.

Supposed to disconnect electrical connector, unscrew 2 screws, pop out the lens & light assembly, reverse

NO! he glued the motherfucker in!
