It is finally an absolutely beautiful day in Massachusetts....after weeks and weeks of rain. Anyone else from Mass, RI washing their Tundras today?

After owning pretty much all black trucks I can say they look so good after a wash but that’s about it. Every swirl, scratch, or just plain water spots kills it and I love a clean truck. That blue is killer clean but I bet it’s just like the black a few days later. The silver stays so good for so long so I have silver for the win. Ha

I won't ever own a dark colored truck again. Where I live, you can wash them until your arms ache, then one trip down our dusty county roads and they look like crap, again. I'm partial to my wind chill white truck for that reason. it can be dusty as hell and still look relatively clean.

This is pretty pricy. Does it really stop water spots, 100%? How often do you have to change the filters?

100% spot free as long as the resin is good. Recharge will depend on the water quality going in, how you use the water (Spray gun vs pressure washer) and how often (Final rinse only or entire wash). It's worth it if you dont have shaded parking or like fancy stuff

For reference, I have a water softener in my garage that feeds the CR spotless kit like shown in the pics. My setup uses the RVmods retrofit kit that allows even more resin than how CR ships the kit. This setup has been installed for over a year now with semi weekly washes on my wife's Model Y and monthly washes for the truck. I use the spotless water for everything...initial rinse, foam bath, rinse off, wash and final rinse...all via an e-pressure washer. My TDS meter still reads 0-5ppm. I'm on city water that is potable, so that helps a lot. Zero water spots on the final rinse...some spotting depending on the soap you use but it rinses off easily.

yes 100% spot free when the TDS meter is below about 5 ppm. As far as how long it lasts, that depends on your TDS input from your water source. Water softeners don't do anything for that. My water source from the city if about 300 ppm TDS, but this system still takes it down to 0.

I use an active pressure washer electric at real 2.0 GPM out put. There is a chart for how long it lasts

    https://crspotless.com/how-many-washes/

but yes, its not the cheapest thing, its a luxury item IMO, but I love it, its sp nice to be able to just rinse off the dust/pollen, etc in the summer and not even dry

I only use it for final rinse to rinse off the regular water that I rinsed off the soap with.

it rules, just spot free rinse and you don't even have to dry at all, just leave it air dry, even in the sun.

here is my set-up as it evolved

How do you like the active? 15 or 20A? My Karcher cube is spitting out some rusty looking water when I fist fire it up...time to upgrade. Your hose reel was probably twice as much as my Karcher, lol

its awesome, it puts out a real 2 GPM at a perfect 1100-1300 real psi for detailing. it will run on 15 amp but once in a while on start-up it will pop it, rarely though.

as you can see in my wash thread, I had new electrical ran anyway and those are dedicated 20 amps, since, why not, HA

ya, cox reels are just simply the best, awesome, made in USA, but not cheap.

I have one for my vacuum as well, that was pricey , but awesome, hehe

I have a remote for the vac, so you just pull out the hose , hit the button, suck suck suck, (HEHE), hit the button to shut off and reel it up.

Nice! Recently upgraded out hose reel to an Eley wall mount and can now appreciate a good quality reel. I went with an MTM reel for the pw but would want a Cox for the vacuum upgrade coming up. Cant use wheel'd vacuums because they roll down our driveway and I dont like using my shopvac since most my attachments/hose are dirty from house projects. Just gotta figureout the layout.

    Happy with the vac equipment?

very happy with the Vaccumaid Pro, its made here as well, I like to try and get stuff made in USA if I can. Costs way more, but it's kickass.

the Reelcraft compressor reel I have is really nice as well, they make good stuff as well so you can check them out.

and ya, the Eley stuff is great, I have a wall mount and a ground mount with concrete drop anchors (125' of USA made drinking water safe hose on each one). their quick disconnect stuff is the BOMB

Also, have a made in the USA Air King high velocity air circulator from their industrial line wall mounted, HA

damn, all this garage talk, we need BEERs:burp:

Jeezus, you boys take truck washing pretty seriously.

I usually just run mine thru the brushless car wash at the local gas station every 2 weeks or so. and my wife thinks I'm anal about it.
