Interior question…does this serve an actual purpose?

2021 TRD Pro. Can’t seem to keep papers in there as they always fall out. What purpose does this clip on the overhead console serve for you? Thanks.

It’s worthless to me. My 2020 is the same. I wish it was like our 2014 Sequoia which has a superior overhead console.

I don't have TRD PRO, but SR5 has it, and I clip my work garage access card to that and does not move/fall out.
However, I remember reading somewhere that it was for sunglasses..... how? beats me to figure that out for sure.....

And while we’re talking about that area I never had a use for that sos button either. I don’t know how it even functions, I imaging it’s some subscription thing?

There’s a sunglass door right in front of that, but I suppose it’s feasible.

I know the door is right there, but some people need to "clip" it for a quick second or just too lazy to open/put in/close
But yea, that's where my card sits. Same size/thickness as a credit card if not a tad thicker, it sit and doesn't move/fall out...
Manual says that it can be used to connect to subscription things as well as kind of like OnStar service, in case of emergency to call for help? Never used it and pray I never need to.

I printed out a copy of the directions for the traction control settings and stuck them there for quick reference.

My RV storage place uses key cards to get in/out of gates, it holds the card nicely. I wouldn't leave a CC up there for obvious reasons, but it works well for this.

Theres a thread on here somewhere showing a mod to install that console in our 2.5 gen. Bolts right in with a little headliner cutting.

Yea, I remember reading it. I honestly don’t use our Sequoia’s enough to justify the effort to do that mod in the Tundra.

I printed that out and put it in the drivers sun visor behind the plastic. I can fold it down and use it for reference. Never had a need to so far

I put business cards in the one we are looking at
