It's a slow Thursday and I'm daydreaming about getting my 06 Tundra out to the Sierras this summer. I picked it up in October so it'll be her first summer with the family. But the past few months I've taken it out to the desert around Anza Borrego State Park and it's been great so far. The camper by OVRLND Campers has been a fantastic setup for my family of four.

I'll kick off the thread with a few photos and hopefully you guys can add some pics of your 1st gens in scenic places! This was a massive thread at tacomaworld hopefully we can blow it up here.

They've never offered, maybe it's b/c I'm not worthy, or maybe it's b/c someone saw me say I've no interest in moderating yet another forum so they're respecting that. I dunno, and don't want to know. I've moderated at way too many gaming and automotive forums on the internet, I don't envy the job they've got in front of them here! You can never do anything right, everyone hates on you for being the voice of reason, enforcer of rules which some don't feel apply to them, being "unfair", etc. I've had enough of that shit.

But respect to the mods for putting up with everyone's shit, and lawlessness. I deal with enough childishness dealing with a teen and tween IRL.

Yah, we sleep in the bed. I've got some cushions from some old patio furniture that fit the bed great. It's a comfy night sleep. Would really like to build a DYI wedge camper. The downside to sleeping in the bed is having to empty the bed to make the bed. Would be really nice to be able to leave everything in the bed and climb up into a popup above. In good time a wedge will built. For now, we empty the bed. All the pictures are Washington state.

When I had the Tacoma I often slept under the soft topper. I had a bed platform about 11 in off the floor and stored all the gear underneath. Works really good if you buy the under bed storage bins from Target and just slide them in and out when you need something. Sleeping in a hard shell Beats the hell out of sleeping on the ground though and better than sleeping in a rooftop tent. IMHO

We had a pretty amazing campsite with an epic view in Yosemite this last fall. Spot 511 in North Pines.

There is a lottery to get on a list to register. Had to that in Jan of ‘23 for camping in Sept of that same year. Recreation.gov

Hope that you can get in, best of luck !

Pretty exotic place where the local diaspora of indigenous fauna even left a nice souvenir for me!
