We are in the final stage of determining our desired colors for a new 1794 Edition. We both love metallic paints and I have seen a couple Sup[er Sonic Red Tundras on the highway, but haven't been able to conclusively determine if it is metallic. It certainly looks like it is, but I have to be certain before I have the dealer put that as my number choice. I love the way that color "pops" in the sunlight and can't imagine that it isn't metallic. You guys that have it, or that have seen it up close and in person: Is it metallic? Thanks in advance. (By the way, my fallback color choices are Wind Chill Pearl, Blueprint, and Smoked Mesquite. Yes, we are- retired military and live in Texas!)

I will go out on a limb here......ask the dealer? Then phone 3 other dealers and see if you get the same answer. In the end just buy it, does it really matter what colour it is ?

You're right--the color really doesn't matter. BUT, if I have a preference AND the dealer can get that color, then it's a Win/Win for wife and I. You are absolutely correct tho--color doesn't matter as long as the package is what we want. (We searched for 3 months, and all over Texas back in 2011-2012 for the Camaro we bought; finally found the model and color we wanted with the options we had on our list. Like my wife always reminds me: You can't park up front if you don't try!)

I ordered the Wind chill pearl for two reasons, one is because white is a very forgiving color hiding swirl marks and the second it has metallic flecks and it changes color hues in the daylight and at dusk it's completely different looking.

Good luck with your choice man & your gonna love this truck!

Color definitely mattered to me. I like all the colors but was willing to wait for LR

It is metallic I don’t have it but have seen it, very nice color. You will have to opt for the cream interior in that color. I have wind chill pearl but I love the smoked mesquite, that was my first choice for my 1794 LE but my dealer got allocated the wind chill pearl and I took it. It’s a great color also

@MEGA VOL--Actually, we would love any of the colors I listed, along with Celestial Silver and Magnetic Gray. We really don't care for the Black nor the Lunar Rock. Both of us like the cream interior.

Bottom line--It will come down to whatever color is available with the package that we want. There are always compromises in everything we do. The trade-offs and making the decisions are part of the process and makes it more fun. Weighing the variables and determining relative importance keeps the mind active. Having preferences up front just gives the baseline against which I can determine the relative importance as I review alternatives. Ultimately the dealer will give me a listing of vehicles with colors and packages and I'll rack and stack in my priorities in order to finalize my decision. More fun than throwing a dart against a board, and I never was good at darts!

I ordered a 1794 Hybrid in Mesquite.....13 months later waiting for it I found the exact same truck on a lot in Wind Chill Pearl. Same interior, same options.....some how I have not missed the Mesquite. In saying that....never would have bought a green or red one. I hate green and have had 3 reds vehicles.

Super sonic red is metallic. Seen it on a friend Corolla GR and I also owned it. Windchill pearl would be my second choice but not available for my SR5 unfortunately. I’d rather have windchill pearl now that I had the supersonic red. The red shows all the swirls from factory. Guessing from when they detailed it.

Next to my basic white. :(

The Magnetic Gray Metallic looks really great in the bright sunlight. The metal flake really pops in the sunshine. When deciding on the gray I had not even considered that it was metallic and it turned out to be a bonus.

I still prefer the Blueprint with Saddle, but that Sonic Red looks real good with the cream interior like @MEGA VOL suggested

I have the SS Red with the cream interior and love it. I am more interested in the workings/or not of the truck but color is something you live with. I am more than satisfied with my choice. Hybrid TRD 4x4 1794 SS Red.

Thanks to all that have responded. Love the pictures! Ultimately it will come down to what is color is available with the package and options that are truly the determining factor. For example, if Chill Pearl was available next week, with package and options we want, and a SS Red was available in a month with same package and options--well, the Chill Pearl would get the nod! Color is a secondary priority, though there are preferences, obviously. Thanks again for the responses, comments, and pictures!

After seeing a post here referencing Fred Haas Toyota in Houston, I reviewed the inventory of that dealership. They in offered me a discount code, which I accepted. They contacted me last night regarding my vehicle desires….packages, model, etc. This morning the followed up with a 1794, rear wheel drive, non-hybrid and with package we wanted, although with several additional accessories we didn’t request, although not objectionable. Bottom line they took almost $10k off the MSRP. The color is Magnetic Gray Metallic. As noted in several comments, color wasn’t a firm criteria; features and price are considerations also.. Appreciate everyone who commented.
