    Quote from: https://pickuptrucktalk.com/2025/01/most-2024-automaker-recalls/
"As of December 31, 2024, the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported the following car brands with the most recalls in 2024:

    Chrysler/Stellantis: 72 recalls
    Ford: 64 recalls
    BMW: 36 recalls
    General Motors: 33 recalls
    Mercedes-Benz USA: 27 recalls
    Hyundai: 25 recalls
    Jaguar Land Rover: 20 recalls
    Kia: 19 recalls
    Volkswagen: 18 recalls
    Honda: 18 recalls
    Toyota: 16 recalls
    Tesla: 15 recalls"

Toyota only had one "major" recall and that was for the Tundra. So Toyota is still way above the other manufacturers in recalls.

As someone who currently drives both a Grand Highlander and a Ford Truck... I would pick the Grand Highlander over the Ford any day. Quality is night and day. Cant wait to offload the ford and get back into a Toyota truck...

Judging recalls by quantity is not that helpful.

I have gotten recall notices for incorrect verbage in the users manual. Resolution was a sticker to stick on the page

Scotty has been rage bait forever and shitting on Toyota gets clicks for articles and videos.
They're promising a new engine to everyone effected. Let me see Stellantis do that.

I had to leave this forum and avoid it for a while during the whole debacle. Every 3rd gen thread was "hur dur your trucks gonna explode, I'm keeping my 2021!!" and it added nothing to the conversation.

Even still it crops up a lot. "New truck bad, old truck good." Even though if you go back to the time the 2nd gens released it was the same shit.

Does my truck have a few quirks I'd rather it not have? Yes. My 2nd gen did too though. So did my 4Runner. Nothing is perfect.

Needed to rant a little. Thanks if you read this far.

Judging anything by recalls at all is almost a fallacy. It means they found a problem and reached out to fix it. I'd rather that happen then let it remain a problem and say nothing. So more recalls mean the company might actually care, or at least did the math to determine if it was worth it. While less recalls could mean they don't care. Neither is really correct. It's just a recall.
