Ok, I know there’s a million of these so I apologize. I’ve looked thru a ton and can’t seem to find similar symptoms.

ok so I had the whole flashing 4hi light etc. narrowed it down to the transfer case actuator. I pulled the old one off, which was seized, replaced with a new motor only, which I checked prior. When installing reset it to the 2wd position with the key in, 2wd-4hi-2wd. Put it back on and still get the flashing light when in 4hi, but no lights when back to 2wd. I think Ok that sucks but maybe front actuator seized too. (I do remember going thru some deeper water in the spring). So just in case I try the 2wd-4hi sequence a bunch to see if the front will break free, even gave the front actuator a couple taps, but nothing. Well when I go back 2wd the tcase actuator doesn’t work and I get the 4hi flash again in both 2wd and 4hi. So again, I pull the t case actuator, leave it exposed go to 4hi (I hear it work) then I try to go back to 2wd but get nothing. I check the gear visually and it’s definitely in the 4wd position. Anyone know why in the heck it would work one way but not the other? The electric motor is definitely getting power. Also, for those who have pulled the front actuator, did you pull the entire thing or get the black plastic section off? Any help is much appreciated. I really stumped by the t case actuator.

Just tried the tcase actuator again, reset it. Went from 2 to 4hi 5 times with the actuator go back and forth but the 4hi light flashes. On the 5th time it wouldn’t go back to 2 and the 4hi light flashes. And with the key is the acc ignition position there is a beeping from the tcase actuator

I'm new to the forum so I haven't read all the past comments. I had a 2011 Rock Warrior that was a fantastic truck. Recently traded it for a 2023. Still miss that RW.

The only problem I had with it was very similar to what you're detailing. I thought it was the actuator too. Took it to the dealership (I do trust these guys) and they said it wasn't the actuator. No error codes and, of course, it worked fine for them. After a conference with the service tech and two mechanics, they recommended replacing the brake switch. It's a $45 part plus labor. That must have been it because it worked fine for 3 more years before I traded it in.

    Good luck!
