    WTH: Wanted To Have…

anyone have one (or two) rear window switches that are broken? Or maybe you have swapped out for auto up/down and have laying around.

    Scenario:

Two children in the rear seats.. one, able to control window switch. The other not far behind.

Ideally I would like to dismantle the rear window buttons from the back seat, without having to use the window lock button.

I have tried simply unplugging the individual switch, but it disrupts the entire circuit.

My overall goal would be to take apart the window switch, remove the plunger part and cut away the guides for it, reddening it useless and reinstall it.

    Thank you in advance

Why don't you want to use the window lock?

i do not wish to have the window lock activated for my use or my upfront passenger use.

simply enabling the rear switches would be perfect. (ie. flipping the rear door lock switch)

Test the wires coming from the window motor. Snip the power one and they will never work until you repair.

Gorcha. You still want to be able to operate them from your door though? Those switches are $70 each and I would have a hard time dismantling them.

I was thinking the motor as well but I'm betting that he still wants to operate them from the front.

What about covering the whole switch plate with vinyl wrap instead off destroying the switches?

    tried that actually.

depinned the power wire and when it stopped making a complete circuit it failed to work.

i don’t need to get that crazy. This is a mod for mod-sake. Not a necessary one.

What about a 3D printed cover or blank? You could leave the switch attached but inside the door panel.:monocle:
