Looking to buy a set of OEM toyota fender flares, pocket style with the revits like the one in the picture. I tried the bush wackers, didn’t like them bc you can’t retain the mudflaps.

I wish I'd never had mine put on..
Despite removing and reinstalling them when polishing and waxing the truck, they look like this now.
I can't simply remove them because they've rubbed lines into the paint even with the rubber.

I'd suggest some PPF when you install yours.

I'm thinking about having them done with Line-X (or equivalent) in black.

Do you still have the Bushwackers or did you return them?

I don't think any of the OEM flares come in that style.

    Mine looks like that.
They were probably a dealer or port added option.
Were on the truck when I bought it new.

I'll look into the Line-x, thanks.

I was wondering if that would end up being the same size as the ones I have.
Thought about replacing mine with those in black...
    Thank you..

I do know that the salesman said something to me about removing mudflaps with my OEM (?) pocket flares.
So maybe the dealership added them.

My truck is filthy, but there is really no way to mount the mudflaps with these flares.
They kinda act as a mudflap anyway...

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
While I don't currently have any on the truck, I've had (3) different sets through the years.

The clear coat peel on the Bushwackers is unfortunately not uncommon. I had the same thing happen within months on receiving, and I remember reading others having the same issue years ago. Pretty shit considering the cost of painted flares!

Since then, I bought a set from a local member that were apparently installed by his local dealer...not sure of the brand, but they're NOT Bushwacker. They are a bit wider all the way around and not painted. Their mounting tabs for the front were shit and were not as secure as the Bushwackers or the ones referenced below. The little foot-long bracket is really key to keeping the front flares secured.

The third set I bought, and what I would recommend, would be something like these. They at least sound like what you may be looking for.

To some of the other comments, I would suggest you put down some PPF (on the truck) before applying the flares.
As for the color match, I would have them vinyl wrapped. IMO, it's more durable than paint as it is much less likely to chip.
