How long does it stay running for after first ignition? How does it die?

When you say you haven't put in coolant, like the truck has none at all?!? You can use just distilled water to test it if you don't want to spend the money on coolant.

You replaced the starter. That means you lifted or removed the intake if you have a V8.

Are you 100% positive all injectors, wiring harness clips for each injector, and vacuum hoses were reattached, including the line fom the fuel damper/regulator above the passenger side head, which attaches to the square box on your intake tube?

Retrace your steps. Double-check your work. And check for codes if you haven't already, even if the check engine light isn't lit.

Did you pull the fuel rail when you replaced the starter? Just read a thread about the fuel damper going bad on a guy that did the same thing.

Ok so im not sure how to reply to a reply so heres my reply lol. I havent put coolant because i was just trying to make sure it ran but it turns on and turns off pretty much right away or if i push the gas. Im going to put water to see if thats the issue. I removed everything that had to be removed to replace it, complete intake fuel rails disconnected all that just to get to the starter. I made sure i put everything back right. I didnt see the thread about the guy who replaced the fuel damper and that fixed it so maybe thats my next step. Is there any way to figure it out before buying parts im on a fixed income so money is scarce although i can buy the parts if its forsure the issue. Also replaced the MAF when all this started because it was staying on when i was removing it ,thinking that would be the fix

Can you upload three pics to the forum, one from the front of your engine, and one from each side (shot from the hood hinge) so we can doublecheck your work?

    But I see this:
If you had the battery cable off for more than 10 minutes, you basically just forced the ECU to wipe and now has to re-learn. A common side effect - ESPECIALLY if your throttle body is dirty - is what you're describing. Shitty running, dying when you tap the gas. Still, I suspect fuel-delivery-related problem, but ...

Look inside your throttle body carefully. Is it dirty? If it is, never spray cleaner inside. Always use cleaner specifically labeled "throttle body cleaner". Douse a rag with it and wipe all around inside, while holding (NOT PRYING) the throttle plate open, get the top and bottom. DO NOT let the throttle plate slam shut. A can of CRC throttle body cleaner is less than $10. But you should know pretty clearly if the TB is dirty or not.
