I was looking to upgrade my old kenwood 5 channel amp. It only outputs 40w rms to the speakers and 300w to the subs. My current speakers supports 100-120 rms. I found a herzt hdp5 amp for $375. I purchased it without doing any research.

I did some research after it was shipped and found out this amp was released back in 2013 and discontinued by hertz. I was also looking at the jl audio rd500 but it was $600.

Did I get a good deal or was it a stupid purchase?

    Alot of them
Call a local Hertz dealer and ask them. Some older amps are good and last forever. I have an old red and black Rockford Fosgate Punch 60i that I bought in 1992. I still use it.

I bought it from tri-state Autosound. I'm guessing it a new old stock. I didn't find any reviews online but Ive known hetrz as a high quality mobile audio maker.
