Just looking for some feedback on what the best place to tap into running lights / turn signals to wire up some 60” running board lights?

I know doing anything with the headlamp wiring harness is a big NO NO, because of the whole CanBus deal…

Wondering if I can tap into my taillights? I have a ‘22 Limited, so don’t have the sequentials…guessing I’d be ok tapping there, but maybe someone has a better/easier/more convenient spot I can tap into to basically just get running light wires & turn signal wire(s)?

(And yes, I checked out the wiring sticky at the top, but it’s truly like a foreign language to me)

Thanks all, appreciate any help / pointers!

I do have the towing package & actually thought about that, but would that affect the “towing system” in any way?

Like would the vehicle think it’s got a trailer attached, by using those connections or something else that would make this a bad idea?

The 7 pin connector circuits detects a trailer but I do not believe the 4 pin detects anything. IMO. Trailer detection is probably a combination of things like electrical connections, Rear Collision sensors, if you have configured a trailer in the Straight Line Backup system ( if you have that feature ), and other parameters. Try a mockup test first.

If you have the 2 white auxiliary lights inside your bed on your limited it is another possible location to connect and run a wire back to running board location. I thought this would be easier than sourcing power from inside cab kick panel or headliner. Pretty sure they come on with dome lights as you approach your truck. This is on my list of projects also. Good luck.

4 prong senses a trailer as well, actually the other day it sensed my bike rack and thought I was towing

I am looking to add running board lights in my 3rd Gen 2022 limited, too. Looking for the easiest way to tap in as they do have a puddle light option, but also turning.
Have you found an effective or simple way to do this yet?

Anyone have luck finding a place to tap into the turn signal lights? I'm trying to find power to run to my mirror turn signals that I added.
