    I recently purchased this hood bulge light from Rough Country (below is a link for reference), I have it mounted but have yet to wire it. I am wondering if I can tie this light in with the amber DRL on the stock headlights? I would like to have the amber always on with the DRL, I dont care about the white on the hood bulge light, just want the amber. If this is something I can do, which wire would I tie it in with? Would I just use the quick connect wire clips? Thanks for you help!

    2 issues with tapping into your DRLs;
    1. The DRL bulb has two filaments in it, they have 2 settings.
    Bright during the day and dim with the parking/headlights on.
    Neither one is 'on' all the time.
    2. Your DRL is your turn signal, so your entire bulge light would blink with whatever side you decided to tap into.
    Turn signal during the day blinks bright on and off.
    At night with the dim DRL on, the turn signal blinks bright (from what I remember).

    IMHO I don't think the hood bulge light needs to be on during the day anyway.
    I'd prefer it come on with the parking/headlights, but it isn't my truck.. :D

    Anyway, I tapped into the parking light circuit in the headlight for my grille lights.
    They come on with the parking lights and/or headlights.
    I really didn't want them on all the time.
    I used posi-tap connectors to tap in.

    Keep in mind I have OEM LED headlights, but I kept my amber DRLs.
    I didn't like the bright white strips for daytime DRLS.

    So, daytime DRL.

    Parking lights, my Rigid pods are also on the same circuit.
    My grille lights would be your bulge light.

    Another option is to use a fuse tap, and tap into a fuse that’s on whenever the truck is running.
