    Hi,
Can some one with access to full wiring schematics (and ability to decipher them) help me out?

I'm looking to find which exact wire(s) provide 12V+ to the white cargo light (built into the 3rd brake light assembly) and/or the light that is in the tailgate door handle assembly.
They are tied together to one circuit.
If we can find which wire, and possibly at the driver's side footwell wiring loom(s) it would be awesome.

They are controlled by a switch inside, where you can pick OFF, DOORS, ON, so that the lights come on when a door is open, and when the truck is unlocked.

I've added mirror puddle LED lights (just like my 2017 Platinum had) and what them to turn on when the truck is unlocked, go off when locked and be in sync with that switch.

Pics for reference; these are the lights which I need 12V+ from:
    Thanks.

I believe this is what you're looking for. There's a pinned thread in Tundra garage-electrical section, that has diagrams for all tundras. 22+ is towards the bottom of the downloads.

Thanks for the help (found the diags).
Am I correct thinking that I need to pick up the "pink" wire on SI1 connector at passenger A-pilar, to have a somewhat accessible tap...or am I reading this wrong?

That LA-SB wire at S12 changes to violet, then pink as S10 to SI1......is this what I'm looking for (somewhere accessible, without tearing down 1/2 the truck)?
    See below, and thanks again.

....or, I am better off (and easier too) picking up the WHITE wire at IN1 on the passenger side foot well connector?

I haven't pulled anything in the pillar area yet, so not sure about access to wiring. Foot well is farther away but probably easy access if pillar option doesn’t work. Diagrams are also not my strong suit. Been told in the past that LA wiring is aluminum and sensitive to load going to bcm's and ecm's. So maybe avoid using that? Have you checked for k3 and k4 connectors for the mirrors? If you have them maybe there's power for them there? Post some pictures when you're done. Sounds like a cool little project for those without puddle lights.

No 2022+ has mirror courtesy/puddle lights.

I have other sources of 12V+ on the doors, mirrors and "near by"...but it has to be this particular curcuit.
Why? These are the only lights that come on when you unlock the truck, go off when you lock it or when you close the doors and drive off.
Interior courtesy lighting, at least in my Platinum is tied with "Mood Lighting"...which means that if I were to drive at night with Mood Lights ON, anything connected to that circuit would also be ON (and we don't want mirror lights to be on while driving or turning interior lights on).
This needs to function the same way it did on 2.5gens, and the the "cargo/deck" lighting switch and it's outputs are ideal.

Once completed I will do a proper write-up.

Well don't I feel silly, hadn't even noticed on my own platinum. Thanks for that. Going to hold you to that write up now.

    Solved.
Pin#2 (white wire) on IN1 connector at the passenger foot well is the wire I needed (this provides power for the tailgate courtesy light).

Mirror courtesy/puddle light install+wiring thread coming soon.
    Lock the thread.

    Thanks.

Just took a look in my SR5, and I don’t have a white wire going into IN1. Interesting

Do you have a LED light on your tailgate door handle (LED light on the left side, backup camera on the right) ?

I don't see why you'd want this particular circuit to active them, as these only come ON when the doors are unlocked, or opened, or the cargo light switch is activated inside the cab.....which doesn't work if the truck is in "drive."

I do not, I was hoping to have something similar to tap into for entrance lights.

That explains why you don't have this particular wire/circuit leg.
If you have the LEDs in your 3rd brake light then you need to find the wire shown in post#3 in this thread.

    Alternately,
What are you trying to accomplish?
(maybe there is a better/easier way...)

Essentially the same thing you’re trying to do. Have a light that will come on when I unlock the truck or open the doors. Currently planning on having them under the truck and will add on puddle lights in the mirrors once I see someone else do it first lol. Have my relay and everything ready, just need something to tap into that will kick it on at the appropriate time. Even considered tapping directly into the cargo light switch but can’t seem to find which wire is hot at the appropriate time

Gotcha (and yes, pretty much the same scenario as mine).
Since you don't have the tailgate door handle light, I suggest finding the 3rd brake light white LED cargo 12V+ wire.
I used what I used b/c it was simply much easier to find it inside the truck.

I don't think the cargo light switch itself, on driver's dash/side, provides 12V+ actively to the lights.
Download the wiring/schematics PDFs and go to town on them....but again, I think what you're looking for is post#3 here.
If there is a sane way to take off the 3rd brake light, then it may just be easier to take it out, tap the right wire there, and run it down (but I didn't know how to take that light out (no visible screws from the outside?) and didn't want to break anything).

GL, and I'll try to make that puddle light install thread sometime tonight or tomorrow.

I am in same boat, have you thought about pulling signal/power from the 7pin tow connector?

Yup, that was my conclusion as well, after I took out the interior rear map light assembly and "poked around" inside with a flash light to see what I can see.
TG for LEDs.....imagine having to take this apart, more than once, when our 3rd brake light bulbs burned out in the old days.

    Yes.
It's the exact desired operation for my use case.
This wire provides 12V+ for the tailgate handle courtesy LED light.

It operates in sync with other "courtesy lights" when doors are [un]locked, when doors are opened/closed, or when the cargo light switch is used in ON position (while truck is in "P").
When you unlock the truck, but don't open any doors, the lights will stay ON for a while them go off.

Best part, and exactly why I had to find this particular circuit - this light/wire does not come ON when the Mood Light" is used inside the truck at night, on Platinum models at least (so Mood Lighting, while tied with the interior courtesy lights, is separate from the exterior ones).
Hope it all makes sense, as I may not be explaining things in the clearest way.

    Also,
Didn't want to use "door open" trigger, as then the mirror puddle lights would only work when a door was open, and not when unlocked.

    Also no.2,
No idea how the 7pin trailer connector is wired in respect to being active in the desired fashion described above.
I didn't consider, nor test it at all.

    Same here.
I liked them on my 2017, even though they'd pop out once in a while in a cash wash (lol), and I was somewhat surprised not to see them (or better) on the newly redesigned Tundra. But I guess Toyota is no different from the big-3.....make a new model - remove features.
    :/
And yes, look at the wiring schems, and you'll see how quickly all these wires lead right back to ECU (nothing like in the good old, and simpler, days).
The crap I had to deal with here on the 2022, in terms of all my electrical/lighting mods......

I swear I'd rather install lift kits all day than do another mirror puddle light.
    (you'll see why soon!)

Thanks man! Going to go ahead and try pulling down the headliner to find the wiring harness. Fingers crossed! If anyone comes up with an alternative, lmk. Would rather not take apart the A-pillar

Someone else pointed me to tap into the 7pin tow connector when I asked about running LEDs under my running boards for puddle lights during the car locked/unlocked cycles. Thought it would be easier since the tow hitch wire harness is just there

It makes sense when you hookup to the 7pin the trailer lights go on/off during lock/unlock as well

What if I told you that my mirror puddle lights work even when truck/trailer lights are hard OFF?

Pulled down the headliner and found two harnesses. Both relatively center but one closer to the drivers side and one closer to the passenger side. Didn’t know which to tap into so not gonna do anything until I explore the wiring diagrams

    Brave man.
Your pic + info from this post will be added to my "how to", for non-Platinum/1794 models, which I'll assume do not have a courtesy tailgate handle LED light.

Finalizing details, pics...and waiting for the night b/c I just washed the truck this AM and it would be a shame to provide final money shots with a truck as dirty as mine was.
(ironically, my next door neighbor is having some stone work done; the guys have been dry-cutting pavers for half a day....started just as I finished washing the truck. Thank G the wind is blowing (so far) away from my driveway!)

I would just be using the circuit as a secondary trigger for my rock lights to act as puddle lights.
Rocklights already have their separate on/off switch.
