Hey guys I searched and didn’t find an answer: I’m looking to wire up the amber backlight on a Baja Designs light bar to the stock DRL so the backlight runs anytime the DRLs are on. My question is, where is the best place to tap into them? Behind the light itself? Fuse box? Does anybody have a wiring diagram of the headlight harness with this? I’m thinking just tapping the positive wire going into the DRL might be the easiest way to go. Thanks!

edit: 2020 limited with the TRD LED headlights and DRL.

I wired the backlight to the fuse box using an add a fuse. There's an open spot that's hot with the ignition. Basically the same thing but no messing with stock wiring

That’s Awesome! Got any pics for a fuse box dummy like me? Thanks

Found this pic on the forum. See the 5a, orange fuse? It's 1 spot to the right and 1 row back from that 5a fuse

Got em! I wired it into that same fuse and it said “usb” so I put the 7.5 back in the current position and used a 5a for the amber backlight. Fires right up with the motor, perfect. Thanks for the info and pic!

Did you have issues with the bulge corner clips like everyone else? I pushed my S8 all the way back so that I could raise it up to center it. I also reused my screen because I couldn't stand that big gap at the bottom between the bulge and the bar.

I haven’t noticed the gap between bulge and bar, i did not reuse the screen. I had some trouble with the outside clips, I just kept taking a tiny bit more and more off those brackets with the dremmel and I seem to have gotten them to latch pretty good. I’ve got the bar sitting pretty high in there, seems to be centered pretty well.

Yeah it seems like each install is slightly different.

I’d like to splice onto the DRL’s for the same hood bulge amber strip but I don’t know which wires and where. Have the headlight removed looking at it right now
