I have a 2020 Tundra and in the winter when the temperature drops below 5 degrees Celsius there seems to be this rattle or “crack” noise that develops in the windshield area..…especially when driving on rougher roads. If it’s smooth you don’t hear it until you hit a bump.

The issue does not exist when it is warm. I park in a heated garage, when I first pull out of the garage it isn’t there, but within minutes of getting cold it shows up.

Has anyone had this issue and if so were you able to fix it?

I had it into the dealer today and they “rerouted block heater cord, R&I outside cowling and replaced plastic clips and added tape to make more snug fitting” Tapped me for 200 bucks (even though truck is still under warranty) and the issue still exists.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, I just found the thread for me. I am totally OSD about rattles and noises. Here are some things I have found

Where the inside grab handle / pilar trim meets the windshield is a notorious place for causing noise
Where the inside dash meets the windshield is also a place that can cause noise
Under the passenger side dash my HVAC vent was rattling against the underside of the dash
My windshield/wiper cowl on the outside of my windshield where the plastic meets the glass was rattling. This has a rubber piece on it that was there but when I tapped on the cowl there was enough give by the wiper that caused a rattle. I put a bead of silicone along the whole thing and it seems to have taken care of it.
Check the wire loom in the engine bay on the passenger side against the firewall. It can seem tight but I snugged mine down with a bog zip tie and that took one rattle away also.
