I haven’t gotten any notice...just checked toyota.com/owners and it says “no safety recalls” for my specific truck.

My passenger side window has been making noise rolling up since 2013 and still to this day, found it in my service records. Dealer notes state “they don’t hear anything”...

I heard a story here recently about a lawsuit where dealerships were sending out “fake” recalls to get folks to come in and get extra service. Maybe it’s one of those??

I work at a dealer in parts. We do this recall all the time. The tech will pull the window switch and fill up all the wire ports with more grease. If it looks like there is any burn marks or the window switch is broken the will replace it with the new one.
The recall sounds like bs but I can honestly tell you Ive seen more then a couple of switches that are burnt and melted. I wouldnt say you should rush over and do it but if your in for service or have a couple hours I would get it done

I figured it was a legit recall. I read about it in other forums and blogs.

It's toyotas solution that I question, coating connections with more dielectric grease doesn't sound like a solution.

    Why is the switch overheating?
Where is resistance being generated to cause heat?
Read something about replacing a circuit board as well.

I was really looking for others that have had it done already.

I have a 2009 and just checked my account on my Toyota Owners app. No current recalls and no work in the history on the window switches.

Honestly I dont know why I think its a silly fix as well. I just re read the recall again to see if I could get you some answers and its pretty useless. I believe the problem lies in the window motors. The recall calls for 3 screws(to screw the switch back in) and grease but can be inspected by the tech and may require a board to be replaced.
