My son rolled the rear passenger window down this afternoon and now it won’t go back up. I checked fuses, swapped switch with a know working switch and still can’t get it back up. If I push the switch to go down I can hear the motor. Nothing happens when I pull up.

Any ideas on how to fix or what it could be?

Is there a way to force it closed manually?

thanks in advance for any help

Could be a bad motor. Try slamming the door. The jar can sometimes get the motor working. Don’t go nuts when you slam it or you’ll be replacing the window.

One more trick. If you remove the door panel you might be able to get access to the motor and a few taps and it might go. You can also put your hand on the bottom of the window and push up as you work the switch.

Thanks again. I’m actually at the dealer now. They did “diagnostic” and said motor and regulator were bad. Wanted almost $1000 for parts and labor. I told them to just get the window up and I’d do the parts when I had the chance.

They came back an hour later with “when we had the panel off we discovered a broken wire. We can repair for one hour labor. Motor and Regulator tested independently and are fine.”
