While growing up in rural Idaho, all the pickups my dad owned were equipped with a Warn 8274 8k lb. winch.

He used it frequently to pull trees up to the road for firewood, or to get himself out of a hairy situation in the woods, or to move a shed or outbuilding on the property.

So, when I got myself a pickup, I assumed that I needed a winch. It's just something that manly men have on their pickups.

Now, I have owned a bunch of pickups in the 30+ years I have been buying trucks, and my Tundra is the first pickup that I actually installed a winch on. I haven't needed to use it yet.

Curious as to if other Tundra owners with winches have used theirs and in what capacity.

Also “skidding” smaller trees, pulling posts, pulling dead rhodies and lilacs, got my wife’s car unstuck when we had 12” of snow in 24 hours this past winter…
