I've read through the forums and I've seen a lot of full or partial replacement bumpers and I've also seen the SDHQ hidden winch mount, but is there a more affordable option to mount a winch behind the stock bumper? With winter coming l'd like to get out on the snowy trails more and I typically go alone. I'd feel better having a winch, but all I've seen so far is a new full or partial bumper or the SDHQ hidden winch mount - which is awesome - but expensive. Has anyone done any hidden winch mounting with a more affordable option? I was probably going to go with a Smittybilt under $600 - would prefer not to double or triple that cost to mount it if possible.

The only thing I've seen that may work is front receiver install but that would probably put the winch pretty low and make clearance even worse.

    Thanks for any input.

I got a good deal on a Victory 4x4 Blitz bumper and on the smittybilt winch. Still waiting on the bumper to ship but should make for a great xmas gift to myself:)

I have been thinking this same thing. I would love a front receiver hitch that doesnt hang down 6". I have thought about having someone custom make one for me. If you find anything let me know
