I recently added a sub to my 2020 Crewmax. I struggled with what size would fit, and wanted to use the JL Audio 8" CP108LG-W3v3 Micro Sub. The dimensions being 18-5/8"W x 11-3/16"H x 6-5/8"D, the 6-5/8"D measurement is only where the speaker grill is, the enclosure depth is 5-1/8" or 5-1/4".... I've seen it listed both ways. What I did was cut some pieces of 2x4's at 5-1/4" length and used those to see if they would fit behind the seat.

It is rather difficult to reach up under the seat back with the 2x4 piece, but what I found was the width would require the enclosure to extend behind the steel seat support bracket and the space there was quite questionable on whether it would fit. I ended up buying the JL Audio 6-1/2" CP106LG-W3v3 MicroSub, the dimensions being 14-1/4"W x 9-3/4"H x 5-1/4"D (6-5/8" with grille). The width was an easy fit between the steel seat supports so no problem at all.

I know what you're thinking, 6-1/2" sub? What a joke, well the output of this small sub is really quite surprising. It certainly won't rattle the sheet metal but it's clean and rather deep, sounds more like a sealed sub than ported. If like me you preferer accurate music reproduction not bass heavy sound reproduction it's worth considering. I will add that I am considering adding a second one, although that brings the cost up to $800 and there are other options available at that price point. James Taylor's dual 10" custom box sub being one.

Maybe this is out of your price range, but if not it maybe worth a try.

Thank you for taking the time to write this, this is exactly what I was looking for. Yes, I prefer something musical and complimentary to my other speakers as i upgraded the dash and fork door speakers in my base sr5 non/jbl system. I will check this one out.

found this on eBay, save you a couple extra $$: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3050214429...gLAqOY5RJy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

That is a good price, the only potential issue is I don't believe JL will honor warranty if not sold from an authorized dealer. I'm assuming that's not an authorized seller, although warranty work is probably not going to be necessary.

Don't know if you have an amplifier, but I used the Kicker Key 500.1 mono amp. At 150 watts into 4ohms it's a perfect fit for that JL sub. And if I decide to add a second one, wired in parallel with the one I have would present a 2ohm load to the amp, and the Key 500.1 amp supply's 300 watts into a 2ohm load. Again a perfect match.

Oh yes I’m familiar with that one. I ended up doing a 5 channel amp (Pioneer GM-Dx975) as it had 75w at 4ohm for my door speakers and 600w RMS at 2ohm for the sub (was going to go with the one i referenced in the post). Was planning on doing a tundra box and adding two of the pioneers which come out at 300w rms at 4 ohm and parallel would be perfect as well. I’m going to have to call my shop today because looks like I’ll have to return the one I bought as it won’t fit :(.

I have used the JL Audio 6-1/2" CP106LG-W3v3 MicroSub for nearly two years in my 19 crewmax on JL Audio Slash 250/1v2 (with a JL Audio Fix 82 for summing/converting the high level inputs to RCA's). Factory everything else. It runs like how I think a Tundra should have come from the factory with. The only issue is the really low end, it has some fall off below 38 Hz which I think is due to the box design compromises. I wanted to make a new ported box that will play lower, maybe even two 6.5's in isobaric configuration, not enough time in the day. There are better options for more output but can't go wrong with quality parts like JL or other big names.

I ended up going with the Q Power 10" dual sub enclosure made for our crewmax and will be throwing in 2 Pioneer TS-A2500LS4 (mainly for budge reasons), the subs were only $98 each. They also go perfect with my 5 channel amp with 600w total RMS at 2ohm which these two paired in parallel would be.

I will see how this goes and if it makes me happy, otherwise i can switch them out if i determine the increase in price is valued enough for me, which would also require me to get a more powerful mono amp. keep yall posted

Thanks, I was going that route but had all the other components. Will reach out to them if this fails but I should be good now!
