For the first time since I've owned my 2014 DC with 83K miles on it, the check engine light came on this morning.
I ran up to to Oriley's to have the code read and they said it was an evap code.
Gave me a few possible reasons why it would code.

That bummed me out so I ran a few more errands.
It dawned on me that some guys were getting the CEL light from locking gas caps.
I don't have one, but it I figured I better check the cap.
The cap was just setting on top of the tube, it wasn't screwed in.
I know I didn't leave it like that, kinda odd that it was loose.
I checked my cameras and didn't see anyone mess with the truck last night..

Anyway, I'm sure that is was caused the CEL to come on.
Question is: will it turn itself off, or do I need to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes?
    Thank you..

Should eventually turn itself off assuming you don’t have an evap problem with the gas cap. If the cap came loose on its own or isn’t otherwise sealing well the code will persist. On the plus side a brand spanking new genuine Toyota gas cap is less that $30 and highly likely to fix the problem.

Otherwise if you want to disconnect the battery for a reset have at it.

I wish I only had an evap code. Instead my 2007 has thrown a P0420 and sounds like it has an exhaust leak somewhere or catalyst material that is broken up or loose.

Yeah that’s what I’ve been learning with done research. I won’t clog up more of this thread with it though.

If anyone cares, the CEL light went off yesterday morning.
Probably driven around 60 miles since tightening the fuel cap.
I'm just glad that is what is was..

Now on to eventually getting the AC fixed....
