    hello all,
I just installed Camburg leveling kits over the weekend and it seems like my truck is about an inch nose high. My question is does it settle half an inch or so and how long does it take to settle? Thanks in advance.

According to Fox no, and I agree. Have beat mine pretty good off road, and it settled maybe 1/16”. Looks like there is plenty of room to lower it, and imo you need to, will be topping them out on potholes and bumps. Your shocks are only good for 2 inch lift per Fox, although it is only possible to go down to 2.5” before the coil is free at droop.

@Vizsla thanks for the info. I’ll give the shop a call tmr and see if they can take it down a bit to level it out.

Looks like a lot of preload to me. How much preload is the recommended limit not to pass?

No problem. :anonymous:Think I have run almost every Factory Race, and Performance series Tundra shock Fox sells. Learned a few things. If they left them at the factory setting you will be 3.5”+ lift. Reach out with any questions, it is almost pointless to ask Fox.

No measurement, just 2” lift which is not possible. Here is how mine looked as low as they could possibly go without the coil being loose, about 2 3/8” lift.

2” will level it. Even that can look nose high on my truck. So if @Vizsla says 2-1/2” minimum... it will never settle to level. Need to start thinking about thr rear. Or a winch bumper lol.

When i first got my Icons, they were advertised as inch lift. Putting them on I got 3 inches.

My guess is the shock companies know that their average customer just wants “lift” and doesn’t really care about suspension performance, so they likely set up the collars to ensure they give lift and avoid complaints.

The collars look like you can turn them down a bunch. I would try turning tbem down 4 turns, check height, then repeat if needed. It’ll ride better too

How can you tell what height they’re set at if they’re already on the truck? And can they be turned down while on the truck?

I’m asking because I’m wondering if mine were preset from fox at the highest setting. I have shims also to correct the lean and I just don’t want to be overextended.

When I called Camburg company. They said it’s already preset at 2.25-2.5 inches . I believe you have to lift up your truck before you can adjust coils again and also need an alignment after.

Whon installed them? If a shop did, maybe they turned them up because they like it tall

Yes if you asjust the collars you need an alignment.

You really can’t tell your lift height without pre-measurements. The proper way to measure is centerline of the hub to fender edge. This takes the tire size/inflation out of the equation.

You can turn them down while mounted. Jack up the truck until tire leaves ground. Take out the set screw, then use spanner wrench to spin collar up.

Would adding shackles on the rear (1 inch Toytec or #2 Coachbuilders) bring the rear up to level or even a slight forward rake without any other modifications?

Thanks for that response. In addition, is there no indicator on the coilover as to which setting it’s at? I guess that’s what I was trying to ask. I guess I could always reach out to fox and ask as well. Although when I ordered them trough my shop I had asked them to request that the coilovers be set at 2.5”. Now as far as if that was actually done I do not know. Only reason for all my questions lol. The ride quality isn’t bad, but it’s hard to tell if it’s any better or worse from stock as I had the suspension added shortly after getting the truck. I do have the DSC upgrade but haven’t messed around with those settings either.

Good question as well. Unfortunately not. There is slight variation in all springs so it is possible that if we both set our collars the same, lift height could be different.

I think the front is just a little higher than the rear. put a level on the bedrail and see what it says.

@Hbjeff which option is better? Adjust coilsover for better ride or add shackles in rear to level it out. Thanks for your input.

Lets say you opted for adjusting the C/O's. You gotta find a shop that can adjust with the truck on the lift and then they're gonna charge you by the hr by which most places are about 105-118hr and a alignment usually goes at least 100 - 125. So tax minimum is gonna be around $300. And don't expect them to get it right the 1st time so that hourly rate is gonna go up.

Camburg shackle will set you back $200 and that same hr rate to install em. Don't compromise you ride comfort if you like what the ride is like with the front set like it is now because you'll end up in a alignment nightmare.

This is coming from a guy that works at 4wp and does about 6 Tundras a week.....

If you like the front height, then raise the back.

That’s what i would do. You got some nice looking tires so it will look right
