The wife's jeep will not start cranks like a champ but no zoom zoom. So here's what I've done.
Checked battery and even used the jump box. Plugged up the OBDII and have no CELs. Cycled the ignition 3 times and no codes shown odometer read out just says done. Cussed a bit and kicked around some gravel. Had dinner and checked all the fuses. Ya ya not Toyota however I know there's some smart jeepsters on here. I borscope aircraft engines for living and EX-Ray shit auto mechanic......not so much.

my wife's jeep had problems with nothing happening when turning the key. On the 4th try or so it would start. Sold it before we could figure it out.

If it's cranking then it's not the same issue. Could be fuel pump like moto said. Fuel filter? Maf? Injectors?.......

Hey Patrick, you didn't mention what yr the jeep is. You've got juice to the starter, that still doesn't mean that you've got a spark. Fuel delivery, like MotoTundra said, fuel filter or pump, is another possibility. I had a jeep not start once, could not figure it out. Finally took it to a mechanic, it was the computer. Best of luck.

    Flux capacitor!
More information is needed to really diagnose this. Can you post the jeep year, motor, mileage and another information. Does it have a spark at the spark plugs? Are you getting fuel to the motor? Lots of questions I'm wondering can eliminated with covering some of these questions.

2007 patriot 2.4l 4X4 with about 147k. No noise that I can tell coming from fuel pump with key in acc/on position.

Just to confirm, you are listening near the gas tank and at the same time you have someone turning the key right? I have never listened to an 07' Patriot fuel pump, but that sounds like a decent place to start, no pun intended. I would ASSUME you should hear a hum or buzz.

Maybe start by checking the fuel pump fuse. After that relay, then pump.

Sounds like the place to start @MotoTundra. She'll have to wait till tomorrow it's getting cold and my patients are worn thin. Thanks for all the suggestions this evening.

Sure thing. I'm not a tech tho, FYI. Just guessing with limited info.

In some vehicles you can access the fuel pump by removing the rear seat. Be cautious not to make sparks near that baby if you are doing any troubleshooting.

A stuck gas gauge can often be overlooked!

Put 5 gallons in from Jerry can

    No start...

Get fuel rail pressure gauge from parts store. They are cheap. See what you are getting. I would say just disconnect fuel line, but that can be a mess. Easy way to check though.

    Good pressure....

Start looking for spark.....or crankshaft position sensor.

When it comes to dodge, ram, or Jeep...always buy factory electrical items. Never one from a parts store. I had 3 bad crankshaft position sensors from a parts store that ended up costing me 1600.00 in diagnostic fees, new ECM and in the end, a new CPS

Plenty of Gas the wife had just filled up and then the car sat for 3 days. Thanks Chris! after work today I'll swing in and grab a fuel rail pressure gauge. I tried it again this morning just for the hell of it and I noticed the check engine light would illuminate and then blink 11 times. Hooked up the OBDII but no stored faults not even soft faults. What sensors it could read were all in range but maybe without a start cycle it cannot store a hard fault. Off to the JOB
