Im looking to upgrade/widen the tires in my 2019 TRD PRO. I currently have stock wheels ( BBS Forged which i like and are gonna keep) and tires 275/65r18. Im going with BORA 1.5 inch spacers. My question using the spacers can i go with a 33/12.5r18 Nitto Ridge Grappler?? Will i get any rub?? Does anyone have any experience with this?? Ive been to a few local 4wd shops and get different answers but they are obviously trying to make a sale. Thanks in advance. Im new to the forum and am trying to navigate it.

In person tire shop will be better than internet help in this case.

If they have the tires you want and tell you they won't rub....then make sure when you drive off the lot, they don't rub

All my research said that mine wouldn't rub and sure enough, they rubbed. Every tire, every truck (even the same truck) will vary slightly and tire brands will vary as well, even in the same size, depending on how they measure and lug depth.

A little taller, but narrower worked for me. Take a look at a295/70...Nitto has that size.

I didnt really see what i was looking for. I dont want to go with 295s. I dont want to increase the diameter that much thereby making my center of gravity higher, throwing off the speedometer which will throw off the abs and vehicle stability control system. With the 295s if your speedo says 80 your actual speed is 85.5. I want to go with the 305/60 because its pretty much the same diameter (+.33) but 1.5 wider and add on the 1.5 inch spacers it gives me a wider wheel base and more stability without raising my center if gravity.

Gotcha. I just installed a Hypertech in-line speedo calibrator and everything is dialed in just right again. I don’t see a +1” height change being catastrophic to COG or stability, but that’s my personal experience.

From my experience with the Hypertech, know two things:

Tire sizes are more “nominal” than anything - the tire size calculator may give you some pretty exact width and diameters, but each mfgr will be a little different, plus the air fill pressure and load on the tire all affect actual diameter and width.

The factory calibration isn’t dead-nuts for the tire size on the trucks. They have to accommodate all the different wheel/tire combos available on all the different trims and they don’t do a custom programming on each ECU.

The result of that is that even though the math says a 295/70R18 is ~6.8% bigger in diameter, the actual multiplier needed for the Hypertech to get the calibration dialed was closer to only 4.5%.

I personally ran 305 KO2’s on my 2008 for one set of tires ~50k miles and had more issues with the ABS sensors than ever before or since. BFG recommends a wheel wider than the factory Tundra wheel for that width tire.

Just spent a little while researching. You sold me. Gonna go with the 295/70r18 ridge grappler. Just ordered the hypertech in line speedo calibrator. Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated
