Their website always seems to do that. My 2018 also had 265/55/20 which are 32.3”. I ran a 285/65/20 (33.6”) on stock wheels and a 2.75” lift in front.

Just to see if they thought I was running 18's, I went back through the pick your vehicle thing and it came upw with one original tire size , and no alternates. I'd say it's the LT, but it says it needs to be an E1, which I think can only be purchased as an LT.

I'll try and call tomorrow and see what they say.

That’s weird. I wouldn’t think any tundra would weigh enough or carry enough to need E load range tires.

I always run an E load as I like the 10ply for off-road and the added sidewall stability for towing. Ran them at 45psi cold.

I had the same issue for trying to buy/install 315/70r17. I ended up saying I had a Raptor (stock tire size) to complete the purchase haha. Techs were confused for a minute but thought it was funny/all good. Looks like there are some vehicles that have 285/55r20 stock just plug these in to complete the purchase:

You just have to search by tire size instead of vehicle, then ignore the warning that the tire won't fit. Unless you have some strangle local ordinances, they shouldn't have any issue mounting the "odd" sized tire not spec'd for your truck (even though it obviously was spec'd for your truck).

Cool for you. But it’s not required and odd that they would say it is.

with Discount tire, search for tires based on size, not vehicle. they will only show stock tires available if you choose tire by vehicle and they only list the standard tires/rims, usually not the TSS options.

So just browse and buy based on the tire size you want to run.

So here is what I ended up doing, While they list the TSS as atrim package and it returns the correct tire it will not let you checkout.

So I ended up selecting SR5 4x4 with aluminum rims then changing to the alternate tire size 285/55r20. it hen let me select the same exact tires and checkout.

Now here is where it got a little wierd,in a good way, when I did it that way I received a $110 Michelin discount on the set. Which dropped the per tire price under $300. It said the discount was good September 7 – October 23, 2022 but only for online orders. But I would bet they would do it in store if you asked.

Wonder if it's because 35 of the 38 tires they sell in that size are e rated?
