I laughed at first. Then I thought, maybe it has something to do with your charging system or battery. Because at night your headlights are on, taxing the system. Start off by checking the voltage of the truck at idle. Hopefully it’s somewhere between 13.5 and 14 V. Then maybe try it with your headlights on. How old is your battery?

Maybe time for a little tuneup. Clean your mass airflow sensor and throttlebody, Check your spark plugs, they may be due. And maybe think about a fuel system cleaning. There are write ups around here.

Sounds like either fuel or evap system, possibly both. Like it's not getting enough fuel to run up high.

I'm thinking more along the lines of the heat of the day causing a pressure build up in the fuel system. I could be way off as I have been before, but that's all I can think for the night/day issue.

Sounds like there's a lot going on here. No cats, Cam sensor wire splicing, fuel pump has already been replaced etc. I would retrace all prior work and look for any problems you may have missed. Was the truck giving you these issues prior to the fuel pump replacement? Prior to the Cam sensor issue? When you say it acts like it wants to die but doesn't at 3000 rpm, what do you mean exactly? Could be any number of issues, you'll have to eliminate them one by one. No CEL with a truck that isn't running right is odd. Spark plugs, MAF sensor, TPMS sensor, injectors, evap system, charging system and battery, the list goes on and on.
