I’m looking at a 2019 MGM Platinum with just over 10k miles on it. It has running boards, tonneau cover, bed liner, black exhaust tips and insert badge. They are asking $42,781 for it and it seems to be part of the recall.

Tell me I’m crazy to think it’s over priced and I should just get it. Or should I push back and try to get them down to 40 for it? It’s sitting on an Audi lot and I’m sure they want it gone.

    Thanks

Tell them to take 38 for it. If they want it gone that’s the deal.

You can always leave them your contact and tell them if they want to make a deal give you a call and get out of there. You may lose the truck or you might get lucky idk. Dealership games suck.

Seems if you got a clean carfax 40-41 would be a good price. But they are not selling much right now so try a squeeze them.

Looks about right for a Platinum. Like said above. Lowball them and go from there.

Now that would be a deal here in my area. Taxes would be over 4k alone.

I don’t think it will last long as priced. 1 year old platinum priced like a new SR5...

Yea seems pretty good to me. My dealer had my basic (no extras or sunroof) 17 Limited with 58k miles that I traded in back in December asking right at $37k and it didn't last long.

How does it compare to book values? When I first started looking at Tundras I thought "holy shit these are overpriced". After a while, I realized that was just the value of them. Compare Kelly BB to NADA to Carfax. A fair price is somewhere in the mix of those, depending on regional influences.

Seems like a fair deal to me but i'm sure they have a little working room. Bought my 2018 1794 for around the same price early last year. From the research I did it was on par for price and the only other 1794's in a 200 mile radius were all 2017's with 30k+ miles on them. This one had around 8k on the clock and had a couple nice options the others didn't (tonneau cover and TRD dual exhaust) so it was a done deal. Dealership (Subaru dealership) had it on the lot for over a year and sold it at a slight loss since they actually used it to tow other cars to shows (owner has a thing about exotics so there's always a Ferrari, Lambo or something else in the showroom). They also had the state inspection done (doesn't usually happen here in Mass when you buy a used car), filled up that big 38 gallon tank (also something they don't normally do on a used car) and delivered it to my house 90 miles away from them so in the end I got a good deal and didn't have to go anywhere :)

40 vs 42 or 43 is not a big difference. But you should never pay the asking price.

If it was me, for that kind of money I'd buy new. I think it's a bigger risk buying a barely broken in used car than a 10 year old car with good records and good ppi.

^This. With the discounts right now you may not be too far off on a new one, and you’ll possibly get a better interest rate on new versus used.

I have to be honest, that is not far off. Before I bought my 19 Platinum new, I was looking at used. Only way I could find anything a couple hundred miles with Knoxville under $40k, the truck has to be at least 2 years old and up around the 60k mike mark. I tried on about 8 Platinums with 20k or less and no more than 2 years old and dealers would not budge hardly any. They were all $41 to $44k. Crazy thing is they sold.... After taxes it would have been $44k. I paid $49k all in for a brand new one with 17 miles.....

If you are serious, I would try to get them under $40k and jump on it or buy new. You are right there within $8k of new and much better financing rates and terms in new....

Paid 44K for my 2018 Platinum with 7200 miles 3 months ago. Came with BakFlip cover and spray bedliner. No running boards like this one has. Seems like a decent deal to me.

    Do it.
