So, I've seen posts showing certain versions don't have the AirDam...like the TRD Hybrid not having it in some cases?
Is there a definitive way of knowing a 2023 truck does or doesn't have the AirDam w/o looking at it?

Also, is it correct that only trucks w/the JBL system have the fake engine sound?

    Not sure.
My 2023 Limited Crewmax 4x4 Trd Off-road NON-hybrid does not have the air dam. Also don’t hear the fake engine sound. NO Jbl system.

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
I have air dam and engine noise through my JBL system.

JBL gets the fake noise...I'd assume any "Off Road" package wouldnt get the air damn, just how they dont get the electric running boards

I have a Limited TRD OR, and it does have the stupid air damn. I deployed while parked in the garage just to verify. Looks really weird to me when it is deployed.

Limited TRD-OR with air dam for me as well. Fake engine noise with my JBL. It was super easy to turn off with Carista.

The air dam must not be crucial to the ride quality or fuel economy or they would have it on all of them no?
The hardware for it has to cost at least $10-$20ish a unit to make and numbers like that are a big deal in the volume of vehicles involved.
Not to mention they have to warranty it... I wonder what bean counter decided to use it at all...

I would guess it offers a fraction of a mpg increase in economy and is only there to boost official ratings. I have it and my economy certainly isn't very good. It's completely transparent though. It only deploys at speed so I never see it. Definitely cannot tell when it is in use.

That's 5% at stock height...wonder if that is impacted once we start lifting the front end. I'd assume that the higher the valance is above the ground, the benefits would diminish since we are trying to avoid air from getting under the truck.
