Hello, I have recently traded in my Tacoma and purchased a 2021 Limited Tundra Crew Cab Pro and absolutely love it! The truck had 28 miles on it when I took it for a test run. at 100 miles it started making a terrible intermittent sound that would start when I was driving down the road and does not stop until I have come to a complete stop. Of course, I took it to the dealership right away and it didn't make the horrible sound. Thankfully, I was able to make a video. I wanted to check in with y'all because when the service people at the dealership heard the sound all were quite baffled.

I've attached the video. Please HELP!

That’s one horrible noise. I’d like to know what is rubbing. Sounds like metal to metal.

It’s even worse in person and takes all the joy out of driving your brand new truck. I’m a little over 2500 miles after the diagnosis and lithium grease lube job from the dealership. Hopeful it never rears its ugly head again.

There are 3 or 4 forum members that I know of who have had this issue. Hopefully you have a good dealership and get it dealt with!

This my girl, thank you TunsofFon! We were so worried about the noise, my hubby was so happy that I found the answer thanks to you and tundras.com!! Next step is getting it fixed, I'm just grateful that they won't have to tear the truck apart to find it, I really hate breaking the factory seals before 100,000 miles (even worse at 500 miles). Did you know... 2021 is the last of the v8's they're changing the motor to 3.5 twin turbo v6 and no matter what they say that engine does not have the same power as a v8 (they changed the Tacoma motor a few years back and we were never happy with the power of it), that was one of the deciding factors to buy my girl and every time I fill up the tank, I will be happy to have this lovely full size truck and engine, can't wait to drive it on the beach!

    Thanks again and Happy Thanksgiving!
