Looking at the 2022 trim levels and options and have a question that I'm having a hard time finding an answer to. When I order, I want to have color matched front. Is that just on the TRD Sport? Anyone know what options give color matched?

All SR5‘s are color matched except when it comes with the off-road package.

The only other trim that is color matched is the TRD pro.

Thank you! I even asked a friend that is a salesman and he said he hadn't learned all that info yet.

What trims can you add the black out edition to?

If you're in (or anywhere near) the south then you might want to take a gander at the TSS package. That package is FULLY blacked out and looks pretty sick, if you ask me. The bummer is it's only available in the south or in the Gulf States (I think).

I am in Mississippi so we are Gulf South. My first ever Tundra was a 2007 TSS. At that time it didn't come in 4wd though. Does the TSS come in 4wd now?

TSS is just an appearance package that they can put on any standard Tundra. It's just a cheap way for that area to mark up the trucks.

Yes, it's available in 4WD for the 2022's. Check out @oxlsu40's truck if you want to see what it looks like.

It does go slightly beyond just slapping some blacked out badges and a "TSS" sticker on the bed. The TSS package puts the all black 20" TRD OR wheels from the Limited trim onto the SR5. Which, I believe, is the only way to get those all-black wheels equipped on an SR5.

Those are an aftermarket wheel that you can buy on your own if you want them. They aren't Toyota wheels. It is a price gouge package.

The TRD sport is the only completely color matched. Base SR5s have contrasting wheel arch trim (black? Grey?). TRD OR has matte black plastic wheel arch trim.

Are you sure? I'm 99% positive they're the OEM wheels from the Limited TRD OR package. They look pretty identical to me. See below.

Kinda pissed that Toyota didn't offer an 18 inch version of these for the SR5 TRD. They look much better than the machined trimmed ones. I'll probably end up replacing them.

As far as color matching, I'm considering stripping the chrome from the mustache and rear bumper panels and repainting them myself. Need to hit up a junkyard for some chromed practice pieces to do a trial run first though.

They must have changed what they add. The TSS had these forever.

It's still just an appearance package and they can put it on 2x4 or 4x4. Both configs are out there in the world.

I 100% agree. My other wish is for Toyota to offer the 4Runner / Taco 17" TRD wheels in an 18". These are some of my favorite Toyota wheels of all time:

It's different wheels.... not exactly a major difference. It is STILL just an appearance package. New badges, stickers, and black wheels.

Funny how Toyota works, in my region they call those the "adventure wheel and tire" package

That's the package from Toyota, but the Gulf States Toyota region has always done their own stuff. Should have seen the confusion when the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS for short) was added. People with older trucks were arguing that they had TSS or that you had to get the package to get it. All kinds of stupid stuff because a regional network has it's own "special" packages and people think that it's a trim.

FN made a knock-off that was popular. It was available in 17x? and 18x9 a couple of years ago if I remember correctly (I was looking for my '07 4R). Model was something like "f(x) Pro" and wasn't easy to find on their website. Just had to find the TRD centercaps elsewhere.

    That is absolutely correct, sir.

The OP specifically asked about the front color match, not the whole vehicle.I was answering his particular question.

I have not. I have built what I want and pretty happy with it. Just deciding if I want to pull the trigger or not. I have a 2018 TRD Sport now. Kinda worried about getting the new model this early in production.

Same here. Adventure wheel. This other says it's forged.

Vinyl is not that expensive. Forms really well with a little heat. Hardest part is matching a color. I wrapped my camper top. Close in color but not exact. Kinda in the same boat. I've got a 2019 TRD Sport. Test drove new truck and really like it. But I want the CM with 6.5 bed. Currently not available here and TRD Sport is not available on the 6.5 beds.
