I hope it is ok to sneak in here with a 2024 Sequoia question. I’ve searched the forum but can’t find an answer.

I am buying snow tires and wheels. I’ll swap them out myself each winter and spring.

    1) dealer says the TPMS for my vehicle is the 42607–02050 about $70 each

If I purchase these for my snow tires and wheels, is a scan tool required? Which one?

    2) VDO-Continental makes a TPMS sensor for $28 each but their tech support wasn’t sure what scan tool was required if any or if the truck would learn it automatically.

Has anyone done this and which TPMS did you buy and was a scan tool required?

    TIA

I re-sensored my daughters wheels, it was about $80 a wheel ( Canadian ). Yes you need something to re-set the sensors after each change over, a Carista may do it as mine gives the option but I have not tried it
