    Hello all,

I have recently been having some minor tranny issues on my 05' DC 230k miles. I am just curious, if I end up needing to buy a new transmission, where should I source one? I see some guys saying they buy pull offs locally for cheap. But that make me a little nervous since I wouldn't know the state of it. I also see rebuilt ones on reman-transmissions.com for 2500 bucks. Does anyone have any insights to share?

Oh darn, i clicked on this thread hoping it was something else. But since i'm here already, these are my thoughts...I'd be highly skeptical of a $2500 rebuilt transmission. I'd probably have more faith in buying a used lower miles transmission out of a wrecked truck for much, much less money. Search around on craigslist, facebook, and wrecking yards. I would also want to see proof of how many miles are on a used transmission as well. For instance, the wrecked truck and the odometer that it came from.
