Where in the fuel system is this problem located? I would like to investigate it so I can determine if the plastic fuel line has been compromised. Since this is a safety recall with the potential to start a fire, my Tundra is PARKED. If I can determine the severity, then I can decide if I should keep it parked until sometime in the future when Toyota decides to contact me with the temporary fix (23TB09) or be able to continue to drive it.

Call your local service department. They should be able to tell you in detail what parts are the issue.

The overreaction to this recall notification is comical.

Thanks. I did and they said I have to wait until Toyota provides the temporary fix, to be done a the dealer's service department. I suspect they don't want to give out that information. Maybe I'm making an assumption that I shouldn't.

Haven't exactly heard of these trucks bursting into flames. I am very sure between here and (even more so) the Facebook group if this was happening at a dangerous rate people would be posting pics of on fire trucks left and right and the pre-recall b*tching would have been outrageous.

I think it's reasonable to learn where in the fuel system this problem is so I can assess it myself and make a decision on use of the vehicle. There may not be any published fires so far, but I'd rather know for myself the status of my truck's system.

    OMG!
    Here we go again:deadhorse:.
We're being told a temp fix expected in OCTOBER and wait for a letter to be sent to you.

Wait to get a letter and don't worry about......................Not being a Dick, Toyota is jumping on this BEFORE the FEDs have to get involved. Usually alot of complaints are filed then a recall is born...Toyota is jumping on this before shit hits the fan so we all need to stay calm. Please!

OK, there's been a lot of comments here but no information. Does anyone know where this alleged defect in the fuel system is located?

October is when owners will be notified of the vehicles that are of interest to this problem.

Somewhere between the fuel tank and the injectors.

    Lots of stuff!
We got a notice from BMW about my wife's Mini and not to park it indoors or under cover. It can catch on fire and burn the building down while it is parked!

How far do you go with the "PARK IT" approach? What if you won the lottery and got a leaky one, and it led to burning down your home or hurting your family?

The notice says "plastic fuel tube that is installed near metallic brake lines"........crawl under your truck and look for any brake lines that are near the gas tank (Right hand side of truck). Last time I was under the truck I don't remember seeing there being too many places that occurs (likely on top of the frame rail and bottom of the bed). If you can't find it or see that location then probably the only way you'll actually see it is to drop the tank which I would assume you aren't going to do that. As others have said the safety recall would have said to stop driving it if Toyota thought you should stop driving and park it. Take some pic's while your under there and report back what you find!!! Can't be too many places there is a plastic fuel line and brake line near each other (very likely the top of the frame rail and can probably see it right above the tire).

I put a FB link in an earlier response to the OP that has more details. A dealership described it to someone who, in turn, identified it on his vehicle and started posting so people knew what to look at. I found it on mine yesterday.

I've got a good one, Got the letter from Toyota on 10/25/2023. Went to my dealer in Harvey La. their telling me they are not authorized to put the temp fix in. I showed them the official notice from Toyota and got no response, I'll try again Monday with the manager.

The letter states you will be contacted by another letter once the temp repair parts are available. Toyota is required by to pump out the letter despite repair is not available at this time unless your letter states otherwise.

Guess you didn’t read the important part of the letter on second page before you ran to the dealer.
