Just bought a travel trailer and can't see down the sides very well. I need to get some side mirror extensions but not sure where to look. Any suggestions on some good quality extensions and where to find them?

Can you just buy the Toyota tow mirrors? I believe they are only $50.

Toyota factory tow mirrors are only $50? That would be ideal. I will have to look into that. Figured they would be to expensive and didn't think I could get them with the blind spot monitor and heated like the Limited mirrors.

No. They are about $400 new just for standard power and heat.

Yeah, that's closer to the price I was thinking for just basic mirrors. I definitely just need to get extensions.

There are several vendors that sell aftermarket tow mirrors at half the price of Toyota OEM tow mirrors. The biggest complaint I heard was that mirrors tends to vibrate. There are some people without any issue, but after reading through enough posts reporting this same problem, I decided to go with Toyota tow mirrors. They are solid as rock.

I am probably wrong thinking about it more now. I was just going off of the $50 price increase when buying the new truck. But to buy them seperate it is likely more. And the %50 was just on an SR5 so no BSM.

This site has really good aftermarket towing mirrors and the prices are reasonable.

Some Mods :) See build thread for details
Tow mirrors will look better and probably be more functional than adding extensions to the reg ones

Is there anything different with the wiring or mount points going from standard mirrors to the Toyota power/heated tow mirrors? Been thinking about doing the same thing because of my 24' enclosed. Would be nice to have them

Thanks for all the input everyone, got some decisions to make. The ones on eBay look good I just want high quality, I mean that's why I bought a Toyota! I'm a mechanic so aftermarket parts scare me even if they are non drive train and won't cause a breakdown.

As long as you have the tow package, they are plug and play. If you don't have the tow package, you will have to find another way to wire the lights.

I bought the extensions that just slide on and clamp for around 50 bucks off Amazon. They work OK but if I had seen that under $200 for a new set I would've went that way.

I bought the tow mirrors from Amazon I believe $385.00
Took about 20 minutes to install and everything works great. They claim to be Toyota and came in a genuine Toyota parts box.
No vibration and I like the looks a lot better.

By the way one set of factory SR5 mirrors for sale not even 2,000 miles. LOL

@purpdust if you're talking about the CIPA extensions that clamp onto the existing mirrors, then all the features of your mirrors will still work: BSM, turn signals, heat, etc. The ONLY thing that won't work will be the illumination light on the bottom of the mirror because it gets covered up by the extensions.

I didn't realize those lights were there until last night... 2 week old truck :)
