I have a 2014 Tundra SR5 running 275/70r18 stock wheels with the 60mm offset with no rubbing. I am looking at some Fuel 18x9 wheels with 20mm offset. I am getting conflicting information as to whether I can run these wheels with stock suspension. I am looking to kick the wheels out towards the fenders to get a wider stance. Does anyone run this setup and can you tell me if there is any rubbing? I was doing research and reading it was all good then I found a calculator that says the 9" wheels could push the tires into the strut. It also said it would look like a ridiculous monster truck. Confused! Still looking to run the 275/70r18 tires if I can. Thank you in advance for any information.

Are your stock SR5 wheels 18x7.5”? If so, the 18x9” Fuels are obviously 1.5” wider. All offsets the same, that’d be 0.75” extra of wheel width on the inside of the wheel that’d want to collide with the upper control arm/strut as you mentioned.

That said, the 1.5” (or 40 mm change from 60mm offset stock wheels to 20mm Fuel wheels) change in offset is going to push your new 9” wide wheel outward from the truck and give you 1.5” extra of suspension clearance to easily fit that wider Fuel wheel on there.

The problem with wider wheels and clearance is the scrub radius shoves the tire into the front bumper/fender liner and the rear liner/mud flap, when the wheel is turned to near/at full lock.

All that is supporting evidence for me to say, those Fuel wheels and your tires will be fine on stock suspension.

Here’s my 295/70R18 tires on stock 18x8” +60mm wheels with stock suspension. I wheel around Colorado and I don’t rub at all, on suspension or anything.

I did remove the mud flap and massage the front fender liner, but I’m running larger tires than you. I also just recently put 1.5” wheel spacers on and that puts me at that 18x8” +20mm offset that’s real comparable to your 1” wider wheel with smaller tires. You should have to do anything to fit that setup, worse case (based on your alignment specifics) you might have some very light rubbing in very specific situations (turning and hitting a bump simultaneously) that a good alignment or light massaging/mud flap removal will fix.
