    Crisis needs expert resolution:

I currently have 18” Method 315 (plus 18 offset) wheels with Toyo 285/75R18 MTs. (Cement truck with gold wheels pictured) Total weight per wheel/tire is 106lbs. I just upgraded to the C4 Overland bumper and I have Bilstein 6112s on top setting and Total Chaos UCAs and a CMC done by @BashFab giving me room for 37 inch tires.

Doing research on 37’s I discovered the following.

    Cooper AT3 XLT 37x12.50 is 68lbs a tire.

KMC 17in KM545 Trek wheel (photos below) is 27lbs with a +18 offset. Total weight (wheel and tire combined) is 95lbs or 11lbs lighter than current setup but with 37’s.

Method 313 17in wheel is 24lbs with a +25 offset. Total weight is 92lbs or 14lbs lighter than current setup but with 37’s.

Price difference between the KMC and Method is about $320 more per set of four for the Methods. The Methods are 3 pounds lighter per wheel/tire combo than the KMC setup.

Both are available in 5x150 bolt pattern in black.

Any opinions/advice? For some reason the KMC design is a little more appealing to me personally. The Method is a bit more of a standard truck design but both are acceptable.

Thank you for reading this novel and voting. *I also posted this in the dirty sevens thread as well.

My vote is to get whatever floats your boat in a 17” rim.

before I went with 17” rims I priced tires for the 18” rims that I had. 37” tires are cheaper for 17” rims for some reason.

Hadn’t seen the KMC but those look dam good! I wouldn’t mind the weight difference and on 37’s those will look badass!

I agree. Just seeing what people think of both and the weight savings and price difference. I already have gold 18's, so I am not scared of floating my boat. Hahaha.

@Squatting Pigeon is the one who turned me on to the KMC 17 inch wheels for our trucks in the 5x150 bolt pattern.

I like them both but opted for the Methods. Might be easier to spiff up when needed. Maybe.

Would you go bronze for the KMC wheel? Or are you looking at black for both brands?

There’s a dude on here with a code he shares for 20% off methods if that helps the decision making process.

I contacted KMC and they have no information or idea if they will make the bronze or grey in 5x150 bolt patterns. They also stated the Trek in 5x150 is two to three months out from shipping from overseas.

Always go with your first choice. Analysis paralysis is a PTA. If the wheels are rated even in appearance, I VOTE FOR METHOD. Unsprung weight, but that's just me.

I don’t have a first choice yet hence me asking the Tundra public. I do agree with you on the savings of 14 pounds per wheel well though for sure. Gun ready?

    Thank you for that.

There is a site called expertvoice.com. See if you qualify to sign up for it under any of their requirements. GOVX is also similar but expertvoice has much better selection of stuff in my opinion. Anyways, really awesome discounts on all sorts of great companies like Method and others.
