    Appreciate any help.
    2007 Tundra 5.7
Truck vibrates. It’s not a violent vibration but it does feel sort of strong. Like as if it’s a massager vibration. I feel it a little in the steering wheel and into the floor. Goes in and out, and can start at 15-20mph and into the higher speeds. If I let off the gas it stops. If I suddenly accelerate quickly it stops. Only shows its face at a kept speed or slow acceleration, and usually only lasts 3-5 seconds.

I had a wheel out of balance on a ‘93 F150, but it was violent to where I had to pull over. I’m feeling it could be something else.

I’m sure this could be a few things, and maybe not enough info to figure it out, but I appreciate you all with the help.

Probably just tire imbalance. It's usually especially noticeable within certain speed ranges. If you take your truck to the shop where you bought the tires, they usually balance for free.

If only with acceleration, it’s likely driveline related. Most likely suspects are driveshaft or carrier bearing. Then maybe torque converter, but it’s a distant third for me.

Yep, it’s the torque converter. Going to cost me $1800 + tax. Woo hoo!

can I ask how you found out it was the tpirquw converter?
I have a similar humming noise that is revolutionary…. Happens between 35-45 mph. Was hoping it was a tire out of balance…

    Pretty things
Does the sound/vibe go away in 4Hi?

Might be the needle bearings for the front DIFFERENTIAL. People tend to get a replacement BUSHING from ECGS to fix that one.

(Edit for correction of brain fart)

Sound was still there in 4HI. I’m going to get my wheels rebalanced and rotated. If that doesn’t fix my vibration I will look into the transfer case needle bearings. Thanks for your help today.

It’s actually the drivers side front differential needle bearings that are the common failure. East Coast Gear Supply makes a replacement lube impregnated bushing (not a bearing) that replaces it. The way most people are able to diagnose the bearing as the failed part is to drive the vehicle until they can hear the noise and then put it in 4wd. If the noise goes away (due to the tension now placed on the bearing) then it’s the problem. If your noise didn’t go away (mine didn’t) then it’s probably not the problem.

Copy that. Thanks for the further information. If the wheel rebalance doesn’t work I will check out the carrier bearing and drive shaft.

It is indeed the bearing between the left front half shaft and the differential.

Thank you for catching my mistake
