Is there dead space under the console or does it sit pretty flush on the body, ducting, electrical, etc?

I bought a Bulldog Safe but it sits up a couple inches. I'm wondering if I cut the bottom out, would it sit down a couple inches?

This is what I need/want to cut out. I'd like to know if there is anything vital down there before the Dremel chews it up.

...and before you say it, I know there are Tundra specific safes out there, but $225+ ain't cool with my checking account.

Doesn't the cm have rear heat and a/c? Are there air vents in the back of the console and controls for the rear seat passengers? If so, there is ductwork and electrical. If not there may still be something under there. I have a dc so I'm no expert. But I did test out the legroom in the cm.

Well, I went in there and tore it up a little. It's a no go. Even with a little cutting and bending, its not going to fly.

So, for those folks that Google this question down the road:

Does the Bulldog BD1150 fit in the third generation (2014+) Toyota Tundra center console? The answer is no. Not without a lot of fabricating. If you have a lot of time and patience, you may be able to pull it off.

Hope someone profits from this down the road.

(Edit: I be suck at grammar)

4wheelparts had the Tuffy console insert safe for $140. Might be a good alternative to the more expensive safes.

    Flux capacitor!
When I took all my interior out for my wiring I found all A/C trunk lines under that spot. You can see in the photo the trunk line goes right where your asking about. IMG_4843.jpg

The shifter knob doesn't need to come off to remove the tray. The vents are on the sides of the console, the yaw sensor is underneath. Maybe if you took off some of the plastic on the underside of the console lid? The card, tissue holders etc...

I dremeled console underside, post haste. Still not enough for the model I wanted to get in there.

umm...why are u installing the safe???? cal penal code says anything mounted in center consule becomes part of truck and illegal for transportation.unless you have ccw.

to transport and have a pistol all you need is a lock box ,cable locked is optional...this is what i use...ccw is near impossible in my city

I'm a cop and on the extremely rare occasion I have to leave a gun in there, I want it as secure as possible.
