This is a screen capture from a video about installing speakers in a Crewmax. What is the black object protruding up through the carpet between the seat mounts? Can it be easily removed? Our plan is to remove the rear seats and put the dog bed in the back. Still haven't got our SR5 yet.Screenshot_20210828-192651_Samsung Internet.jpg

Perfect! My plan is to put a false floor over the footwells to give the old Yellow Lab as much room as she needs. Maybe the jack will end up under that false floor.20210531_183621.jpg

You could extend the frame to the back and the frame should allow it to float right over the Jack bracket.

Might have to do that. With plywood prices as they are.... I want to keep it as low as possible and have to also build steps or a ramp for her to get in. She doesn't miss a meal.

You can build the frame with a slot to slide a ramp in and out of. I’ve seen similar things done with 2 piece ramps in the 4Runner cargo area.

Turns out the bottle jack can stay right where it is.

I like that. Are the stairs one piece? Where do they store while driving?

The underside. Made from a Uline shipping box old treated deck posts and a 2x4. Exterior Titebond glue and Bosch trim nail gun. Carpet scraps contact cemented on the treads and where it may contact the body. Handhold cut in front of the second step for ease of lifting. Four closed cell foam pads (not shown) about 1.2x2" contact cemented to the underside to prevent sliding while stored in the bed. Aluminum angle clips on the inside edge of the plastic trim inside the door. The rear doors open enough that I didn't need to make it angled so it can be used on either side.
