    Hi everyone,
I have a 2019 sr5 extended cab with the TRS offroad package.

I live out in a very woodsy area with a lot of dark backroads.

On my way into work many a time I have had to slam on my brakes coming out of corners only to met with a deer and everything else under the sun.

I am looking for advice and options on options for lighting that will help me see better and longer distance and off to thr sides.
I am wondering if ditch lights or a behind the grill light bar would help?

If a light bar itself is a better option I would want to keep it stealthy.

Also I have the factory led headlights and fog lights.
Also considering upgrading the factory fog lights. Is amber better in fog than white?

I want to see better but also keep it kind of not so obvious when looking at the truck aside from ditch lights

Any thoughts ideas or advice is greatly appreciated!

I know there are a ton of options out there but also not looking to break the bank.

    Thanks everyone

Can't get much better than the factory LEDs. You could add additional lights, many have installed lights in hood bulge or other areas on the front of the truck.

Check out the lighting forum here, I am sure it will give you some good ideas. Many of the posts will list parts, pics, install, etc.

Tons of light bar / pod options out there that can help on the cheap

for deer, you’d probably want to go with white, you’ll be able to see their eyes from a distance. Mine has helped me driving to and from CO to TX and back several times

amber is more for inclement weather, fog, dust, snow etc

Taco spike for replacing the factory led fog lights was considering going the amber route but for other options definitely staying with white.
I deal with a lot of fog in the fall and spring here.

I upgraded to amber Diode Dynamics Sport fog lights & I highly recommend them. I also live in the mountains that are full of critters/deer. They just make night driving easier & less stressful for my aging eyes.

Cheap and easy = ditch lights
When properly placed, which is off to the corner, they actually help you see where you are turning into.

A light bar might end up blinding someone coming towards you.

I definitely want to avoid blinding anyone, I deal with a lot of that with trucks around here.

Taco-spike is not wrong. The “amber” lights don’t seem to highlight the “amber” coats and eyes of wild creatures as early as bright whites. BUT depending on where you live, it’s less-attention-drawing to replace your OEM ambers in the OEM housing. Baja Designs has an amber that’s more bright yellow, very bright, and it’s what I’d install in the same place of the OEM fog lights if I were in your situation.

A less-expensive supplier for bright white lights, veteran owned and made in the USA, with a comparable warranty to BD is Black Oak. If you can tolerate adding small metal mounts in front of your A pillers, several fabricators make them for our trucks that sit close over the back edge of the hood— you’ll get used to them, and you can mount effective lighting.

Edit: I just saw @Cruzer beat me to this. The lights/ location I mean, are also called “ditch lights”.

Ditch lights aimed down and out for you know actual ditches where those pesky deer like to hide out biding their time for road kill suicide. I use low profile white light (2600 lumens per pod). It'll get er done.

Get some powder coated hood mounts and you're golden.

I like the idea of amber fog lights and have look at and like the idea of ditch lights. The question is spot or flood or combo for ditch lights.
Was looking at Rago fabrication for mounts for ditch lights?

Looking at the stobes n more side shooters?
They are a local company with awesome warrantees.

Another vote for the Diode Dynamics fogs. I have the SS3 sport version of the factory replacement fogs in amber and they are amazing.
