Yes there is a lot of coal out west still. Hell, just south of me is the largest generating facility in Colorado, all coal.

Good luck on finishing your qualifications for Control Room Operator. We just hired two coal CROs and was training them this morning.

You better not wear a lab coat and a pocket protector at work. Ha ha.

Some of your test stand/calibration equipment looks like our continuous emissions monitoring equipment.

I have RF/microwave capability up to 26.5 GHz source/measure with this rack. All the standards in this rack are NVLAP 17025 accredited. Highest level cal/accreditation. Still not boring yet after 37 years. (No lab coats here. Only for the occasional Dog & Pony shows.)

Highly likely. I get a lot of these 8590 series in from different customers. Built em good back then. USA made. I get a lot of 8560 series in too. Royal pain in the ass to do. Very labor intensive. Most of the current gen Spec A's are automated cal which speeds things up considerably.

During my 8-5 day job, I sell office supplies to businesses in the area. But I also have my own photography business where I do weddings, senior photos, family, etc. So it keeps me pretty busy during weekends. Hopefully make that my full time job within the next year or so.

Nothing wrong with coal, before we were forced to converted to natural gas (thank you DC air permiting) our units were base loaded and set records on outage to outage runs. Now we are more of a peaker station with only one unit the runs continuously.

Yeah, I want to do that, waiting until I can get it closer to looking the way I want it. I need to do it for my wife's Tacoma though, that thing is awesome. BTW, the car in those photos is my father-in-laws Roush Mustang

People are going to find this out the hard way, and mostly in the pocketbook. The US needs coal.

Let's just say steps 1-4 don't work (2 people have already left our group, at least 4 others of us are actively leaning in that direction, which would leave less than half the group to keep things running, which would be one helluva work load). I also manage a group of technicians, so I feel I can be somewhat of a judge of how wrong the boss is doing it.

    Hello all.

Recently retired from the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Electrician.

Currently working at the Toyota Tundra plant here in San Antonio, TX on the robotics and automation systems. I was stoked to have had a hand in building my TRD PRO that I bought last month.
