So my garage stock of wire is running low and I want to replenish it. I use the wire around the truck for various applications, pop & lock, led lights, etc.

Do you guys have a go to brand/guage you keep in stock for all-purpose needs? The stuff I'm finding on Amazon all has terrible reviews cause its copper-clad.

Not looking to spend a ton, but I like to have a good amount of wire on hand to rewire my LEDs, etc. if needed.

THHN (Thermoplastic High Heat-resistant Nylon-coated) rated wires are readily available, inexpensive, and have a durable insulation with a nylon coating. It is heat resistant so it is OK in the engine compartment. That's what I use for most things. The gauge I use depends on the application.

Always select the gauge wire you need based on the application involved. Total watts being added, divided by 12 (volts) equals the amp draw. Another factor is the running length of the wire being added. Another important point is to always use an in-line fuse placed close to the battery or tap for the added wiring.
