What to buy with supercharger?

I have noticed that people are buying odds and ends to ensure better performance out of their supercharger and ensure they are also not destroying the motor.

Like oil reservoir canister better belts etc. Any body have a list of suggestions of recommend upgrades when adding the supercharger?

According to Magnuson, nothing else needed outside of their kit. I am changing my plugs every 30k which is sooner than stock.

I've seen a few guys here use the oil canisters but forgot what they are actually called

With additional positive crankcase pressure (boost) there will be more shit circulated out of the motor and back into the intake via the pcv valve. A catch can will clean that junk out of the reintroduced air and maintain a clean burn. Very important when SC'd. Not necessary according to Magnuson, but neither is a condom... Why risk it? Get the cleanest most consistent air/fuel mix and your SC will last as long as the truck.

And I second this too.

I also use a TRD oil filter and change the oil every 5k. I will be keeping my truck for many many years so it it all worth investing in preventative maintenance and anything that will give the SC'd motor a long, trouble free life.

 

You can always get someone to fine tune it. And add on a monitoring system to make sure your A/F stays in check throughout the powerband.
Depending on what you want. Methanol kits always help with gains but definitely need to be fine tuned.
Intake/headers/exhaust always helps out.
Catch cans are always good to have to keep from getting any blowback
URD offers a slightly smaller pulley vs. stock size(not sure magnussen offers) they claim a 2psi boost on top.

extra fuel cans, spare gas cards and road side assistance just in case and for good measure dont forget to start a thread on fuel economy after the first fill up.

 

i wish i could get mine to run right..as of latley its been throwing a po172 and 175 system to rich and it bucks and surges like mad

yup changed them and all 8 coil packs and maf

Know that once you super charged your truck you’re switching to premium gas .

 

Check if you have a vacuum/boost leak somewhere.

 

I'd swap the Magnuson coolant tank for the Figs Engineering one to get a little extra bling under the hood. Maybe the aluminum radiator as well.
Otherwise I believe the kit itself doesn't require anything extra.

 

Probably add some gauges too (A/F and Boost) to monitor things.
